Hi! I need to go back to my country with my whole family but my 10 year visa has expired and lost (i do have a photo of front and back of the lost expired green card). I know that I need to file I-90 to renew my lost expired green card. I saw at the uscis website that they are not issuing stamps on passports as proof that the i-90 is processing and all i have to do is show the i-797 receipt with the expired green card. There's no problem with me getting the i-797 receipt but i have no physical expired green card to show. Had anyone her experience the same thing here? this is an emergency travel for me. Right before i applied for US Citizenship I fell really ill and found out I have stage 4 breast cancer. My mother came here from the Philippines to take care of me and my family. She's very old and was missing home so much so i let her go back home. I can't care for my kids. both me and my husband are considered disabled and we really cant go by without help. I  can't start chemo because i can't be too sick so I can take care of my family, my youngest is only 3. I will have to leave my kids to the Philippines and come back here to start aggressive treatments and hopefully i'll get better and go back there to be with them again. I need to travel ASAP but i'm afraid they wont let me re-enter US again.. Please advise! Thanks in advance.

Since you will be indicating that your green card is lost, then once you get the I-797 receipt you can call USCIS, say info pass and request an I-551 stamp because of upcoming travel.

I would not personally wait to start treatment for metastatic cancer.   I am a 22 year board-certified oncology RN, and I strongly advise against delaying treatment, for any reason.   Best wishes ❤️

The airlines provide “ unaccompanied minor service” for a modest fee, so the children can board a flight and be looked after. You can have a relative pick them up on arrival in the Philippines. Listen to RN Jorgedig and give yourself a chance to fight…without delay or great risks of lengthy travel.

It seems you have a copy of your old expired green card and the old 797 Receipt…so the fastest way to renew would be online, pay the fee and print receipt.
Wait for Biometric/ fingerprint appointment ( or notice they’ll use old prints)
Try for an info pass , carry with you your passport,, copy of old green card , new receipt,  Doctors letter showing scheduled treatments , booked airline tickets and insist you require a document acceptable for reentry …usually a little sticker on the old green card.
