AOS documents are needed at the interview or not?

Hi everyone,

I'm confused because on the U.S. Consulate Casablanca website they say:

Every visa applicant, no matter their age, must bring certain documents to the interview, including photographs, and the original or certified copy version of all civil documents submitted to NVC. You do not need to bring your Affidavit of Support or financial evidence you submitted to NVC.

but in the email from the consulate where they told us when our appointment is, they said:

Important Information:
You submitted forms and supporting documents to the NVC in electronic form. You must present the original forms and documents for review by the consular officer during your interview.

It's very confusing.  It sounds like you don't need to bring the originals of any financial documents.  (In one email they mention you need to bring your tax return instead of the transcript if that's what you uploaded at NVC) But of course we are going to bring the originals of everything we uploaded at the NVC: 2020 tax return, transcripts, letter of employment, etc.  But does my husband provide those along with the civil documents (his birth certificate, court record, and marrriage certificate)  when he comes in the consulate, or just hold them to see if they ask for them.  I have heard they ask for your transcripts esp at Casa.  Thanks in advance!

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/CSB-Casablanca.html

Applicants who fall into any category listed in italics below should bring these additional documents:

For family-based visa applications:

  • The appropriate Form I-864 Affidavit of Support for each financial sponsor along with a photocopy of the sponsor’s IRS transcript or most recent U.S. federal income tax return, and any relevant W-2s.

Ah yes!  I didn't read down far enough on the casa site.  But it's badly laid out in my opinion.  I would make it like a table or chart so it will be very clear.  Anyway thanks again, Jeanne :)

Please take all the documents with you: everything you submitted to NVC: Civil documents, AoS package and all supporting documents you uploaded. JUST IN CASE

Rather be ready for everything, even for remote possibilities

Good luck to you all

Question: did they ask for AoS package or any other financial documents?

To my knowledge they didn't ask for any financial documents but I'll ask my husband to be sure.  We had this whole issue with our 2020 tax return not being processed and not having the transcript and we thought they would make an issue of it, but they didn't.  We had called the IRS so many times, and wrote congressman and representatives.  We filed our 2021 taxes and got our transcript within days and he brought that and an updated I-864 EZ but I don't think they even asked for it.
