plus by May 23 of 2022 the real ID is needed for boarding domestic flights or entering a federal office building

My understanding is it is May 3, 2023.

And a  passport (including foreign), gc, and will continue to work for domestic flights beyond that date.

I also don’t believe the deadline will hold.

I heard about airlines but not for federal buildings.

and i am wrong as one site said 2022 but others say 2023

some sites say certain federal facilities / others say ALL federal buildings - go figure - won't know the truth till this happens

On May 3, 2023, U.S. travelers must be REAL ID compliant to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities.

Realistically do you think you will need REAL ID to enter a US post office, a social security office (when they open … my eta is 2323), a National Park, a federal court house, a federal museum, or even a USCIS office where you have an appointment?

i called Friday and asked the post office and DMV

realistically,   seems this is another issue the government has not even thought thru the interpretation

a foreigner only needs passport so i asked "do i need the real ID as i have a passport?"   and was told "Yes"

and we going to have to show this when entering even the post office as i am in a small town and no officer is at the door?

postal clerk told me post office is no longer a federal building as it is run privately now???????

so ,  i am confused as i found this

Who owns and runs the USPS?

Although it is owned entirely by the United States Government, the USPS functions as if it were a private corporation. It is run by an 11-member Board of Governors appointed by the President and confirmed by the U.S. Senate, with one member -- the Postmaster General -- acting as the Chief Executive Officer

my thinking is the intention was for federal courts,  military bases,  federal government buildings and offices

The DMV is state run and when asking there,  they seem quite upset that the implementation of this is falling in their lap

Hello, so my wife finally received her letter with the interview date (set for April 13). It says on the checklist that “If required, a completed Form I-864, Affidavit(s) of Support, with all required evidence (unless already submitted).” Now, obviously, we already submitted the I-864 back in 2020 with our AOS package. During that time, I had been employed for only four months, so even though my income was 3x the poverty amount, I included a joint sponsor. Now, I have been at the same job with a higher salary (over two years), and my wife also has a job. Should we fill out a new I-864? We are already planning to take (as financial proof): employment verification letters, 3 months worth of paystubs, and our 2021 tax return transcript. Also, do we have to update the I-485 form with my wife’s new employment status?

*Also, I don’t think it would be worth taking my joint sponsor’s documents, since we don’t need them to meet the income requirement.

Thank you in advance for your help.
