YOU'RE the one making ridiculous, ignorant, stereotyped remarks about Americans, so who's the "arrogant little snob" here ?

My argument was that the President is actually a good representative of the average American.

The argument is based on the fact that the people of the United States of America voted him into office.

When so many people can relate to George W. Bush, what does it say about those people?

Dude.. time to get off the drugs and put that crack pipe down.

Bush is not a good representative of the american people. He is a good representative for Corp. Amercia, The Engery companys, OIL Companys ETC... BIG BUSNESS

He does not give a flying chopf*** about the american people.

DO you think the People of New Orlens feel that way. if the Retard that lives in the white house and is in the oral office licking someone's pecker, he would of acted quicker to Katrina. That is a major screw up. He did not give a ####### about it, he knew about it well in advance but did nothiing about it..He did nothing about the oil prices, and they are going up to pre katrina levels now..

Maybe you love Tony BLair also. I think you hung around with too many NRA gun sling RED NECKS to see how crapy and how aweful BUSH is as a Pres. I wont be surpise soon we will be a thrid world country..

Here's what you actually said:

George W is truly representative of America. He's rich, arrogant

and ignorant. He means well yet f*cks everything up. If he isn't a Homer Simpson, the quintessential

average Joe American, I don't know who is.

Then you go to say:

My argument was that the President is actually a good representative of the average American.

The argument is based on the fact that the people of the United States of America voted him into office.

When so many people can relate to George W. Bush, what does it say about those people?

Your argument is quite flawed.

Explaining why requires some math, which is not my favorite subject, but let me break down the numbers for you.

According to Wikipedia, total of 122,293,332 votes were cast in the 2004 election.

Bush won 62,040,610 votes, or 50.7 % of the votes cast. Kerry won 59,028,111votes, or 48.3 % of the votes cast.

According to Wikipedia, 42.45% of the U.S. population voted in the 2004 election. (This number is based upon 2000 census figures.) Note that this is a percentage of the entire population, not of just eligible voters.)

This means that Bush won the vote of just over half of 42.45 % of the U.S. population. If you go ahead and compute the equation (I used a calculator myself) you will find that a mere 21.52 % of the population actually voted for Bush.

And a whopping total of nearly 80 % DIDN'T vote for him.

Find a new argument, as this one has now been torpedoed.

Shhh don't tell everyone! Do you know how bad it looks that only 42.45% of the US population actually bothers to vote???? (excluding those who aren't eligible) But yet America runs all over the world forcing democracy on other countries when we obviously don't even care about it. What a joke!

Public Service Announcement: If all Americans would go out and vote in all our elections perhaps we wouldn't have brain dead morons in public office!

Does anyone think it is REALLY signed by the president? I mean.. wasn't there a big controversy a while back about him trying to make automatic signatures for soldiers death letters?

If he doesn't want to sign soldier death letters, I kinda doubt he'd send a letter like that...

never and i am glad..don't want any bad luck karma from a chop i have no respect for../.

Hey hey now don't diss our president. He may be an idiot but the people of America have chosen him over the other guy.

Unfortunately with Election companies like Diebold in their pocket that's information that we will never know and in fact is already in serious doubt. It caused new legislation to arise requiring all Electronic Voting to require paper backups of vote counts and registrations. Allow me to continue to " Diss" the current administration.

All done for the next 10 years...

Now more then ever..."and Miles to go before I sleep and miles to go before I sleep"

Never got one of those letter....

I only got junk mail and advertisement

This qualifies as junk mail.

I was born and raised and educated in the U.S. ... I've lived all my life in the U.S.
And I could have sworn you mentioned at some point that you are from Texas...
No dear. I "live" in Texas. I was born in Ohio, lived there and in various other states including California, Illinois and Virginia during my formative years, and moved to Texas in my adulthood.

Any other questions ?

Well, as long as you were born and raised and educated between Mexico and Canada yet outside of TX, then your earlier statement seems to hold up. Besides, I was just poking some fun at Texas... ;)

Poking fun at Texas ???!!! Boy howdy I oughta op'm up a can a whup azz on ya... ding dang furreners...

*sigh*

Since someone resurrected this thread, let me just say that your maths is a load of old cobblers.

No wonder it wasn't your favourite subject.

You don't know *anything* about the people who didn't vote. They may all be Bush supporters or Kerry

supporters or simply not give a rat's #######. "80% didn't vote for Bush" is a completely nonsensical

statement because 50% didn't vote at all.
