Hello everyone

My timeline 2018

nothing changing on my case And I’m getting so sad .

when I filled for Vawa the lawyer charged me 13k I have to pay him every 6 months also every time when I have to renew my work permit he charge me for office fee $600. I’m really tired of him cause I feel he don’t care about my case all the time when I tried to contact him he says he’s busy and can’t talk or he’s gonna call me back or he’s only gonna call me when he have some updates on my case !

I filled for Vawa cause my ex espouse he attacked me punched me in the eye and Kicked my leg brutally and i got pictures and evidence.
Idk why my case are taking to long and my lawyer all the time said I have to wait !!!

I inquired USCIS case out of time and they sent to my lawyer a letter. I’m waiting for the letter

do you guys know what can be this letter any thoughts?
I feel that’s automatically letter cause on 05/11 someone assigned and answer right way at the same day 🥹🥹🥹😭
So sorry guys to share this but I really don’t know what else I can do to make this change !

did it DIY but had a lot of help from @sandranj. I went back and read all the older vawa threads i could find till I kinda got the hang of it. The application hasn't changed much since them. No approval yet, 3 PFs, 2EADs and no RFE (don't worry these words will make sense as you start reading) but yeah, if you have the time and think it is something you can do, go for it - if not, find a good lawyer. so many of them just want your $ and actually know nothing about this.

Can you let me know what’s prima facie means ?

I got one RFE in 2018 and nothing else since that

you think if they ask me pf they gonna restart work on my case ?

Prima facie determination is basically: "We glanced over your case, and what you submitted probably does check off all the boxes".

It's really only used for getting financial aid and some other federal benefits. Other than that it doesn't matter at all. If you get a PFD you can still get RFE'd. If you get a PFD Denial then they will definitely RFE you.

In my case, I got a PFD Denial, and I figured that I'll just respond to the actual RFE once it comes, it came, I responded, got approved.

Contradictions without citations only make you look dumb.

DO NOT WAIT for your green card to deal with the derivative children on your approved I-360.

Your attorney should have advised you of that last February when I-360 was approved and filed the I-824 for the children.

The good thing is that they will not age out , so just get to filing I-824 . https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-7-part-a-chapter-7

@Pinkrlion this is the information I was looking for. You don’t need to wait for your green card to file i824

It is an auto generated letter that says you have to contact Vermont.  Your lawyer can email Vermont

It is Sunday (barely, but it counts), and it's time for our stress-relieving, approval-evoking (if correlation = causation), eminently upvote-worthy Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

=========================================================

THE REMARKABLE INDIAN

Many years ago, two cowboys came upon an American Indian lying on his stomach with his ear to the ground.

One of the cowboys said to the other, "You see that Indian?"

"Yeah," said the other cowboy.

"Look," said the first one, "he's listening to the ground.  He can hear things for miles in any direction."

Just then, the Indian looked up.  "Covered wagon," he said, "about two miles away.  Have two horses, one brown, one white.  Man, woman, child, household effects in wagon."

"Incredible!" said the second cowboy to his friend.  "This Indian knows how far away they are, how many horses, what color they are, who is in the wagon, and what is in the wagon.  Remarkable!"

The Indian looked up weakly and said, "They ran over me half an hour ago."

Dumb question. If USCIS requests an RFE, will it show up in the case status online? I'm worried now that they sent my lawyer an RFE and she just missed it. I've had ZERO updates since "Fees were waived" in Sept 2020. Thanks y'all!!

Usually USCIS does update the case status. But for some they do not update.
