Hope everyone is well!

When you apply for C31 renewal, do we need the official receipt notice for the automatic 180 day extension to work? I think we need it to submit to employer, right? @Stillwinning!!!😊

Asking because lawyer said we can apply a few days before it expires, but in my experience receipt notice can also take a month!

You need receipt for 180 day extension to work

Apply up to six months before the current EAD/AP gets expired.

That will enable you to get the renewed one before the expiration of the 180 days automatic extension avoiding you also to be out of job.

Sometimes, it takes up to 11 months to have your EAD renewed.

Thank you guys, that’s helpful. Honestly I don’t have time to go after her with lawsuits and also don’t wanna be the reason she loses her license. Karma will take care of her, but I just want her to refund the amount of money she lied about. That was so unprofessional and inhumane especially when taking advantage of immigrants in our situation who were in abusive relationships and are mostly working so hard to make a living.

Hey just reading this. I had a horrible experience with my lawyer when in “hold in abeyance” interview they didn’t sign the papers to be present on the phone and have promised to lead the interview. They weren’t therefor allowed. A very bad lawyer she knew they can reject me having them on the phone but didn’t warn me or prepare what to say in case that happens. Thank god to this chat I knew what to say. I was interrogated for 1 hour by the IA and was crying at the end (very stressful start when he said he won’t accept the lawyer on a call etc.) then started asking abuse questions etc so I couldn’t hold it and cried. I came out of interview and the attorney just said “they should have accepted no signature”. 2 years pass I still haven’t reported them cause I’m scared lol I would rather get my green card and then think about it.

A quick question for the house @Stillwinning!!!😊, @sandraj. If VAWA is approved, do I need to contact Vermont to reopen my I485? During my interview in 2018, I requested that my AOS be put on hold, but now that i-360 has been approved, what is the next step? I appreciate your help.

I appreciate it. Thankfully, im a law abiding citizen, and have never been in trouble haha. Im hoping that I can speak to my lawyer on Monday and get clarification on whether I need some form of stamp or not to travel with my new passport and AP

Why can’t you travel with your new passport and AP? I just renewed my passport and have an AP and about to travel abroad. I need to declare and get a stamp for the new passport?

Hey family I’m waiting for my renewal My question is do I have the right to work while I have the 180 day extension  ?
At my new job I have promotion I’m scared to get it because they will transfer me to other departments.

Is it okay to show them the expired EAD with extension ?

As long you have extension you have all the rights to work. You can you show them expired EAD with extension and they should accept it.

Hey all,

I dropped off my medicals more then a month ago in federal plaza NYC and since then zero follow up. What should I do? I contacted senator again but it’s this normale? Waiting again?

I’m in the same situation except I dropped mine off 5 months ago. My senator has submitted an inquiry but USCIS has yet to respond. Please let me know when you receive an update.

If your I-485 is still open it will be transferred to NBC by Vermont.  Check you I-485 number in USCIS system and see what it says.

How to check your I-485 in the uscis system to know where it is?

Is there any online link for that?

I'm still not sure about this. I'm going to call my lawyer tomorrow and see what he says. I will post here when I find out. I was only speaking to the paralegal on the case, and I was not informed what particular stamp I would need.

Guys, I really really need help :(

I'm awaiting approval of my I-360 (08/20): I got my third prima facie about three weeks ago, my renewed EAD is in the mail currently.

Last year, I wanted to apply for Advance Parole but my lawyer at the time advised against it. There was a period of almost 6 months when I went out of status (I was on a student visa) and she told me that because of this accrued unlawful presence of 180 days  "departing the US could trigger a bar to return." I let it go because I wanted the AP for a vacation and it didn't seem like it was worth the risk.

Recently, my father has been very sick, and I want to see him so so much. I want to apply for the AP but I don't want to risk being barred from entry. I've worked so hard for 12 years for the life I have here and other than those 6 months, I dont have anything on my record. I'm a healthcare worker so I recently asked to expedite my EAD renewal, which was approved in 3 days. I don't want to give up my chances of getting my green card but you guys, I also really really want to see my Dad 🙁

My lawyer is super nice but I'm hoping someone here has a second opinion. Would appreciate anyones thoughts! Thank you!
