This is my first time here. My i360 just got approved, but I have an i485 pending from my first application, which was submitted with my i130 in 2018. The i485 was placed in abeyance after my request during the interview then. I need to change my address now - can anyone guide me through the process? For a newly approved VAWA applicant, is the online change of address sufficient?

when did you apply for i360?

Well if the dude himself said it’s not a problem, then it’s really not. But come to think of it, it’s not a problem. This is adjusting status via VAWA. You will be fine just start expecting your good news! I can’t believe you are at the end. I still remember how you religiously disturb us here🤣 with your crazy self!🥴 Congratulations in advance!✊🏻🎉🎊

Congratulations everyone on their approvals 🎉. I’m so happy for you. Hopefully the rest of us waiting will be joining you soon 😊.

I don’t have much of an update on my case. I sent a packet including the termination from the judge to the field office director on 3/29 and it was received 3/31.

I finally received the receipt for I-131 I filed on 3/23 this Tuesday 4/21. The NOA RD is 3/30. Status is "fee waived"

I called USCIS on 3/25 to schedule an info pass appointment. I believe I’m at day 27 atp and still waiting for a callback from the tier 2 agent. No text yet.

Fingers crossed they call soon and actually let me schedule an info pass.

You forgot to mark it on the I-485

You were approved for a VISITOR ( assuming) visa with which you entered.

Do you remember if you disclosed the denied visa ( from long ago) on your DS-160 for the most recent approved visa ( which u used to enter). ?

Sounds like they are really really looking at all records, including DOS..

I worry the worries, so please keep up your spirit. It’s just that Officers are trained to keep people comfortable, smile say all good, just a little review….

His line of question brings me to assume they WILL look at your most recent DS-160 and your answer there ( about previous denial) was important …and remember you also had an interview for that visa.

Usually not much scrutiny w VAWAs..as you have read on this thread..so hold on to your faith.

Yeah,

That's also my thought.

If the officer, wants to know whether you did a mistake or not, they will look at your most recent DS-160 though which your visitor Visa was approved after the last denial.

If you did the error there.....,that could be a Red flag on your entire cases and could also be a ground of misrepresentation.

Just keep faith that they wouldn't follow that path and approve your case.

I also usually add any form of ID and get it motorized (the cover letter)

The interviewer told me it is vawa so no problem,

How VAWA Applicants Can Overcome Visa Fraud or Misrepresentation Ground of Inadmissibility

If you got your visa or some other immigration benefit by a lie or misrepresentation, or through the use of false documents or other fraud, you can be found inadmissible. However, as a VAWA applicant, you can apply for a waiver (unless the fraud involved pretending to be a U.S. citizen).

In order to qualify, you must show that either you yourself, or your qualifying parent or child who is a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, asylee, refugee, or fellow VAWA applicant (in addition to a few more narrow categories), will suffer "extreme hardship" if the waiver is not granted.

This is different than the law for non-VAWA applicants, who cannot rely on hardship to themselves when applying for this waiver.
