Hello house @balo101 @Stillwinning!!!😊 @sandranj @Demise I got a message from my Congress person ..she told me that they have sent my i765 receipt but and this is what they uscis told her On December 21, 2021, a receipt notice was mailed to the address on file-at that time (LAW FIRM OF xxxxxxx); the notice has not been returned to this office as “undeliverable” by the U.S. Postal Service.

Thank you for sending our office your inquiry for constituent my name  regarding a request for a duplicate receipt notice for Form I-765 (EACxxxxxx). Also, thank you for providing our office with the attached, signed Privacy Release form for your constituent; My name  signature has been verified.

Your constituent’s Form I-765 (C09), based on a pending I-485 adjustment application, was received with the Vermont Service Center (VSC) on December 03, 2021.  Currently, the VSC is processing your constituent’s form type (Form I-765) for petitions or applications received on or before March 16, 2021.

Ask the other senator, you've got two, and ask them to straighten it out by basically forwarding it to VSC with a request to expedite because you don't want to lose your job.

They give that to everyone. It's a remnant of a bygone era when C31 EADs didn't exist, so they would give you deferred action which would let you get a C14 EAD if you were not able to get a C09. Deferred action is basically used to plug holes in the law with something, like for instance wait times on U-visas, they give deferred action so you can legally work while your case waits in the queue.

USCIS itself is a remnant of a bygone era. But thanks, @Demise your insights are always helpful.

Medical exam RFE Drama: Second congressional inquiry sent in early July 2022 for I485. USCIS responded on 8/12/22 to this congressional inquiry that they issued an RFE on 5/24/22 and were waiting for my response. My lawyer denied receiving RFE and there was no such update on online USCIS portal. Lawyer's old firm was safe mailing address on my case. Lawyer changed firms a year after I hired her but did not change mailing address for my case with USCIS, she said she had a deal with her old firm to forward all her clients' mail to her new firm. Old firm denied receiving RFE. Sent another congressional inquiry requesting copy of RFE on 8/17/22. I also got medical exam done on 8/17/22 as I assumed RFE was for medical exam (thanks for this forum's insights.) Yelled at lawyer and threatened her with dire consequences. On 8/18/22 my lawyer's old firm finally found scanned copy of RFE in their "archived scans" (whatever the duck that is) and emailed it to me. It was indeed RFE requesting medical exam. On 8/20/22 I mailed medicals sealed packet with copy of RFE to St. Louis field office. Also sent a notarized letter with the packet - updating safe mailing address to my home address and informing St. Louis field office that I fired my lawyer. Sent similar letter to Vermont Service Center on the same date.

8/23/22 - Fedex confirmed delivery of medicals packet to St. Louis Field Office.

8/26/22: Case update on I485: New Card Is Being Produced

8/29/22:  On August 29, 2022, we approved your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS

9/3/22 green card delivered to attorney's office (they didn't change safe mailing address despite my written requests to FO AND VSC.)

9/6/22 VSC returned AR11 and my letter requesting safe mailing address change. In their letter they said something to the effect of "you can do this online, we wont do it via snail mail request etc." Just posting as an FYI, its weird. Also received I485 approval notice on the same date.

Hello everyone,

I had my VAWA approved last July but awaiting GC; all applications dated September, 2019. The thing is my FAFSA report says DHS cannot find me in the system. Who has been in this kind of situation before, and how did you solve the problem?

Because Vawa is not in the same public database for other categories, fafsa application will not be able to verify your eligibility, what happens is the school of choice will ask for proof if either pf or yoyr vawa approval notice of action to complete verification.

I dnt know that they always have copy of uscis receipt..have you seen anybody that got their receipt notice from ASC ? I dnt just know how to get this receipt ..that’s why I always follow up my case myself cause all these lawyers dnt really have time for anybody ..since is not their life ..I dnt know how they will miss the receipt ,I think the receipt was delivered but he misplaced them, actually my Congress person helped me get the tracking number for my case ..that’s why once I know my card is coming ,and usps says dropped the tracking number ,I always follow it up before something happens to it..

This is really unusual. Make sure to clear that with USCIS. Your daughter might have problems in the future considering she got her GC even before your I-360 got approved. I have seen cases that clearly it was USCIS mistake that they issued the GC before the petition got approved and they were denied citizenship on the basis of they were not eligible of GC at the time they were issued. Check this with your lawyer and also if you go for your interview as well and clear that situation. If possible ask for a GC that has been issued the same time your GC arrives. My daughter has an IB8 too, her I-485 was processed faster than mine (interview even before my 360 approval). I cleared that with the IO that her I-485 is based of my I-360 and not be confused with the approved I-130 from my ex-husband. So they hold her I-485 and we were issued GC at the same time.

@peacefulFor

How do I clear this? I do not have a lawyer.

I have filled a form with my congress person since the 1st of this month - no response.

I have written a letter to USCIS stating clearly that my daughter received her GC before me and before officially receiving I360 approval online or on paper - no response.

My PF is due to expire in May and I am about to enter Nursing School and do need either the PF or GC for financial aid.

What do I do! I am totally confused

Currently, the VSC is processing your constituent’s form type (Form I-765) for petitions or applications received on or before March 16, 2021.

please how can I get another receipt back from uscis ..my lawyer told me that he hasn’t received any receipt from them and uscis already said they sent out the receipt and they even gave my Congress person my case tracking number to know when my i765 is approved ..I wanna ask what could be done to get the receipt

If it send to your attorney office then there is possibility that they have lost it. What you can do is ask your attorney to request the copy of receipts from USCIS.

Going forward the best thing to do is file the renewal by yourself and put your own address.

Any suggestion on what next to do?

I would say get the help from your congress person. Reach out to them and explain your situation to them

I have been reading here people who got their receipts notice copies from ASC. I read that you go there with your identity documents or passed immigration documents and they should be able to print it for you
