Hi guys, first I wish to thank a very dearest friend, who is actively on this group for advising me to file for C09. Secondly, l humbly thank God for this half victory.

Lastly, how long will it take to receive the physical card after this update? And since I have been sued by credit company through a collection agency and I was found guilty. Are they now going to be holding or receiving my salaries until they fully recover their money?? Is it possible to renegotiate outside the courts or it's over?

Hi, new user here. Filed AOS in 2017, still pending.

Filed for vawa in 2020 Nov, received approval in early June 2022.

Got an email yesterday that an action was taken and needs attention on my 485, case did not update. Talked with a live agent through Emma, she couldn’t give any update and asked me write to Vermont center. Few hours later, received rfe notification for 485. Still waiting for the letter.

Feeling anxiety so looking for any information. Any idea what the rfe could be about?

Hi. You don't really need to be afraid at this point. I guess the RFE is in relation to the medical check. Just wait for it for a few more days. I know you are getting close to the finishing line.

It would take 5 to days to get the card in the mail.

Most likely it would be medical request as @Royal Seedsaid.

Hi VJ family, i have my vawa approved since 41 days now. My i485 has been hold since august 2020 and i made inquires have not heard anything yet. Info pass is still waiting to be scheduled. However, my i485 is in local office sitting my immigration officer told me it will wait there until vawa approves. I am based in NYC. when can i expect medicals?

ANYONE WITH NYC EXPERIENCE PLEASE SHARE !

@Demise @Stillwinning!!!😊

Usually after VAWA approval, they send copy of your file to the local office. And then your i485 can be ready for scheduling. With my personal experience…Vawa was approved March 2019, then Medicals was requested June 2019. There’s really no set time…each case is different. Make good use of the info pass!👍

Hi!

My local office is Brooklyn but I believe the processing time is similar to NYC.

My VAWA was on hold since March 2019, I had my VAWA approved in August 2021 and had my greencard approved this week.

My experience was different - my I-485 was also being held at my local office, but when my VAWA was approved, it was sent to Vermont, then from Vermont to NBC, and back to the local office. I'm not sure why they did that but it took almost a whole year from when my VAWA was approved to getting the greencard.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Guys, should I pay my attorney $500 for sending inquiry about my case? Will she really get a response of why my case is taking so long? I have involved senator, congressman, Ombudsman and nobody knows what's going on. USCIS doesn't get back to them or just says I have to wait. I never received the info that my case is under security or background check just generic letters from Uscis apologizing for the inconvenience", advising that " at this time decision should be made or " your case is under extended review". For a year I have been trying to find out when they are going to process my case. Will USCIS ignore my attorney as well or finally will review my case? Anybody has an experience with that? Thank you

The best and free way it to contact uscis through congressional liaison.

Contact your congressperson for free inquiries and updates of your case

I have contacted them already with no success. They just said I needed to wait, or USCIS didn't reply to them, or they are reviewing my case etc. They never give me the details as to why my case is taking so long. I keep calling congressman and senator once a week with no success.
