Hello All,

Today I received prima facie extension email from my lawyer.  Which dates July 28th, my timeline is

I-360 received june 29 2021

prima facie 1 year received aug 05 2021

prima facie 180 day extension july 28 2022

no RFE

Lawyer says "This means you meet the minimum requirements for VAWA and for that reason you can use this determination to access certain public benefits if needed."

Does that means I am on a right path? how many people get automatically 180 days extention?

A Lot of people get PF extensions automatically, but please remember PF issuance has nothing to do with VAWA approval.

Good evening. What is different security and background check ? My vawa case is under security check and I’m already out of processing time.  Who has an experience for mandamus, Does it help?

I saw people here saying security background check os something related to FBI checking everything under your name all over see if you have committed any crime !

and background check is USCIS investigating all the documents you have submitted!

Why is security check takes long time if I never had any crime in my life ? Is any way for speeding  up the process ? I sent my FBI fingerprint with my package

I absolutely say no to mandamus action for VAWA ,  because its a discretionary benefit and w security background checks “incomplete “ or this being the reason given , you’ll end up w a quick denial.

A few on this thread, said they did their own background and  FBI check , sent it in as a supplemental filing to good moral character and by some magic there was soon action on their case. That absolutely sounds like a worthwhile , inexpensive and effective way of trying.

I filled my vawa in 2018 and has not being approved yet 😭

USCIS told my case are under security background check!  I guess that’s the easy answer they can give for everyone about why the case are taking to long!
I know they forgot my case in somewhere over there cause my lawyer said the security background check shouldn’t take more than 60-90 days .

I’ve ask for help with congresswoman and senator also I filed Ombudsman case help!

Lets see what’s gonna happen next 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Thank you @Pinkrlion. I agree with you that PF has nothing to do with VAWA approval and I have a to wait till next year for that to happen.

I know many of us are waiting here for approvals.... But now I feel so frustrated and hopeless. I am from Aug 2020 and I know my case is under normal processing may be. But I see people getting approvals filed way after me... Have we not suffered enough that this waiting is making it even worse?  Why does USCIS not process it in the order atleast? My life is so stuck at this point and I am tired of looking into case status every day.
