Hi everyone

do I need the original marriage certificate for the interview?

When I filed the vawa, I submitted a scanned copy of the original marriage certificate but the  original marriage certificate is with my spouse in his house when I left, there’s no way I can get it from him.

Is there a chance I can explain this to the officer during the interview and still get my GC approved or does that affect the approval and I have to bring the original?

Can you apply for a couple of certified copies from the jurisdiction where you married?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I can but the only issue is that I am not sure if they will mail it internationally. I am currently outside the US and I want it for my GC interview at the US embassy

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.  Contact them, and keep asking for supervisors higher and higher up until you get someone with authority and willingness to help you.

Or, perhaps you have someone who can pick them up and ship them to you.

Or, if there's time, contact your STATE (not U.S.) representative to ask for their help.  A lot of these politicians are running for reelection this year, and they should be eager to help.

At worst, express your predicament to your interviewer, show your scanned copy and ask if the embassy has a way to procure a hard copy or confirm that your scan is an exact match.

You can have your fingerprints done  at a different location, just explain to them the reason.

Hello Family! I followed your advices and re-dropped my medicals at Federal Plaza this Friday! Waiting for some great news soon. Do you know how long it takes to receive approval for green card after medicals!?

Also, for anyone that is going through the same process my advice is READ THE INSTRUCTIONS for dropoff 😆. Don't be like me.

You should receive your green card within two  or three  weeks.

Hi guys I have an interview coming up for my green card. My question is what questions will they ask as well as what happens if I have marijuana in my system when I do my medical exam

if you have marijuana in your system then you are screwed, because you will be considered INADMISSIBLE, temporary barred from establishing good moral character.

Hello everyone, Happy Monday

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this dilemma, so I’m trying to get stuff in order. I have not spoke to my ex since I left, however I am trying to get a copy my my divorce, I’ve called everywhere I believe he could have filled it but they found nothing. Do I definitely need my divorce decree for my interview?
Any advice is appreciated

Also, a part from my medical, what else do I need for the interview?

There are several websites that  you can search for  you  divorce decree, you have to pay  a fee.

JESUS AND MOSES GO GOLFING

Moses, Jesus, and an old man were enjoying a friendly round of golf together.

Moses stepped up to the tee and hit the ball.  It went sailing over the fairway and landed in the water trap.  Moses then parted the water and chipped the ball onto the green.

Jesus stepped up to the tee and hit the ball.  It went sailing over the fairway and landed in the water trap.  Jesus walked onto the water and chipped the ball onto the green.

The old man stepped up to the tee and hit the ball.  It went sailing over the fairway and headed for the water trap.  However, just before it fell into the water, a fish jumped up and grabbed the ball in its mouth.  As the fish was falling back down into the water, an eagle swooped down and grabbed the fish in its claws.  The eagle flew over the green where a lightning bolt shot from the sky and barely missed it.  The startled eagle dropped the fish.  When the fish hit the ground, the ball popped out of its mouth, and a rabbit darted out and pushed the ball into the hole for a hole-in-one.

Jesus sighed and turned to the old man.  "Dad, if You don't stop fooling around, we won't bring You next time!"

:P

Hahahahaha

Hey guys, i am in a dilemma and i need help. Any advice is welcome as I’m not sure what to do. My husband and I separated exactly 1 year ago now, i sent my vawa in August last year, its been pending for 6 months now. I do not currently have a work permit because I’m also in immigration proceedings so i have to wait for my vawa to be adjudicated before i can go to immigration court to get a green card.

I met a great guy couple months after I separated with my husband, he knows my situation and is understanding. In no way was I looking for love or a relationship, it just happened. And two weeks ago, i found out i am pregnant. Now i do not know what to do. I don’t know how this will affect my case, if at all.

I do work, i have a social security number, even though it’s not recommended just because I don’t have anyone here to help me, just me and i need to pay rent + bills.

I have my Prima Facie for 1 year, what can i do with this? Is having my baby going to affect my case?

@Demise @Pinkrlion @sandranj

Don't get married before your VAWA approval. Having a child will not affect your case.
