Yeah you are right.

In terms of RFE responses, it's advisable to always send only what uscis has requested.

But if you want to send along with the RFE other stuff that they haven't asked, it may delay your case.

Maybe the officer who is asking for that specific RFE is not the one who will be handling the extra stuff sent.

So, it may result with delays or even the loss of the extra stuff you sent.

But if you want to try and see whether it May work, you can also go ahead and do so.  but it will still be that you have sent what was not requested at the time.

agree with that.

in addition to that we know it is valid for 2 years but you never know how long USCIS will take to schedule an interview. So why would waste money.

But it's wiser to update what is needed to be adapted by the surgeon.

At the time there was no any covid vaccine mandated.

Better be in the safe place by sending the new updated version. It's only my opinion. 🙂🙂🙂

May be it was signed more than 60 days before submission.

Or even got lost during the process. But they always explain the reasons in the RFE notice.

Did they explain why?

Hi @Demise , I am working on mailing my I693 sealed packet today, I got it from the civil surgeon yesterday. I am also planning on sending the following three documents with the I693:

1- Copy of the RFE for medicals (it was issued by uscis on may 22nd, it was delivered to my lawyer's old firm, they never sent it to me. I found out about RFE through congressional inquiry and not so politely informed at my lawyer. my lawyer had the old firm dig around and they found it in their scanned documents, finally emailed the scanned copy to me 2 days ago.)

2- A completed and printed AR11 updating my safe mailing address to my home address. (The safe mailing address on file with uscis since the case was filed and up until last week was my lawyer's old firm. The attorney sent a g28 a week ago updating the safe mailing address to her new firm, but I have lost all confidence and don't want her anywhere near my case. She has caused me a lot of headaches over the years. )

3- A letter:  explaining that delay in submission was due to the medicals RFE being lost by my attorney, also informing them that I am firing her (in formal and polite terms of course), and to please update my home address as my safe mailing address.

I am planning to just put the RFE copy, AR 11 and letter together with a paper clip and put this all on top of the sealed I693 packet in the Fedex envelope.

The posted deadline for submission of medicals was noted on the RFE to be august 18th, I do understand I have another 60 days extension so no worries sending after the posted last date on the RFE. I just felt its a good idea to let them know why I am submitting after the Aug 18 "deadline."

Please let me know if you think this is all good or if I should do anything differently. Input from other forum members is also greatly appreciated, of course.

Divorced US citizen spouse in December 2017.

Filed I-360 on Nov 12, 2019

Filed I485/ C31 EAD / AP in Feb 2020 (Stupid lawyer filed C31 instead of C9, and I didnt know EAD codes, didnt know about this VJ forum either)

On H1b status since 2014, H1b 6 years expired in May 2020. Out of status / Period of authorized stay since then.

Amended EAD petition to C9 and filed expedite request for same in mid-may 2020.

C9 EAD approved June 4, 2020.

Biometrics done in Oct 2020.

I485 case transferred to NBC for "faster processing" on September 30, 2020

Filed C9 EAD / AP Renewal petition in February 2021.

Initial Advance Parole (from Feb 2020 application) approved in June 2021.

C31 EAD production update - Nov 1st, 2021.

C31 card delivered to attorney's office on Nov 8, 2021.

I-360 case approved status update - Nov 22, 2021.

No RFE throughout.

Senator's office confirmed via congressional inquiry that the St. Louis office has received the I485 file and is currently awaiting interview scheduling - March 7, 2022

C9 EAD renewal card production case update - July 20, 2022 (took them just 17 months to process)

C9 EAD / AP renewal approval case update on both cases on July 21, 2022.

Combo card delivered to attorney's office on July 27, 2022

Medical exam RFE Drama: Second congressional inquiry sent in early July 2022 for I485. USCIS responded on 8/12/22 to this congressional inquiry that they issued an RFE on 5/24/22 and were waiting for my response. My lawyer denied receiving RFE and there was no such update on online USCIS portal. Lawyer's old firm was safe mailing address on my case. Lawyer changed firms a year after I hired her but did not change mailing address for my case with USCIS, she said she had a deal with her old firm to forward all her clients' mail to her new firm. Old firm denied receiving RFE. Sent another congressional inquiry requesting copy of RFE on 8/17/22. I also got medical exam done on 8/17/22 as I assumed RFE was for medical exam (thanks for this forum's insights.) Yelled at lawyer and threatened her with dire consequences. On 8/18/22 my lawyer's old firm finally found scanned copy of RFE in their "archived scans" (whatever the duck that is) and emailed it to me. It was indeed RFE requesting medical exam. On 8/20/22 I mailed medicals sealed packet with copy of RFE to St. Louis field office. Also sent a notarized letter with the packet - updating safe mailing address to my home address and informing St. Louis field office that I fired my lawyer. Sent similar letter to Vermont Service Center on the same date.

8/23/22 - Fedex confirmed delivery of medicals packet to St. Louis Field Office.

8/26/22: Case update on I485: New Card Is Being Produced

8/29/22:  On August 29, 2022, we approved your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS

9/3/22 green card delivered to attorney's office (they didn't change safe mailing address despite my written requests to FO AND VSC.)

9/6/22 VSC returned AR11 and my letter requesting safe mailing address change. In their letter they said something to the effect of "you can do this online, we wont do it via snail mail request etc." Just posting as an FYI, its weird. Also received I485 approval notice on the same date.

Considering that the 60 day is automatic you do not have to justify it.

One thing: VSC will NOT take an AR-11. Instead insert "I want my new safe mailing address to be ..." somewhere into your letter. It's dumb but that's the answer I got from the congressional liason when I was trying to hunt down my C31 EAD.

Contradictions without citations only make you look dumb.

Very good concerning the address .

The letter shall also include your new address and of course your signature and an ID copy.

The AR11 will not be considered.

That's what I did and it worked.

Yes, you will have to complete new medicals.  When you sent your medicals in Dec 2021, the COVID requirement was in place.  THey have waived the 60 day MD signature until 9/30/2022, so if you can prove your 3 shots get it done now.

- Thank you, @Demise   I am confused about your second statement. So at this time I am sending the paper AR 11 copy, letter and RFE copy with the medicals to St.Louis field office (1222 Spruce St Room 2.205, St. Louis, MO 63103). The RFE states to send medicals to this address.

I will not provide justification for delay in responding in the letter, thank you. Also planning to note on letter that a separate AR 11 is being send to VSC.

I am sending a separate AR11 paper copy to VSC as per uscis change of address instructions specifically for VAWA clients: https://www.uscis.gov/addresschange . The address listed for this on the weblink is

(U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services
Attn: Humanitarian Division
Vermont Service Center
38 River Road
Essex Junction, VT 05479-0001)

I can of course add a letter to VSC as you instructed, along with the AR 11 paper copy.

Please let me know what you think of this, sorry I didn't provide all the data earlier.

No harm in sending the AR-11, and the letter saying that "your new safe mailing address is..." and that your lawyer's been fired to both VSC and to the field office.
