I am here with K1 and I’m processing greencard still. So it’s adjusting status.

I have a remote job from Korea.
I thought it would be fine because it’s not US company.
but today I realize that it is illegal.

no matter what I do for a job, if I make money in the US it is illegal..

I’m going to quit my job

I gave them 2 weeks notice just now..

But the thing is this is considered “business income”

So I have to report this on Schedule C

as business income in the US

my accountant said this is business income..

I’m going to tell the truth at the interview for greencard..

do people sometimes get kicked out of USA or get refused greencard for this..?

I don’t know what to do..

I already did something illegal but want to get a greencard still…

I need some advice..

or is there any possibility that business income during AOS is not illegal..?
because it’s not earned income

Not for spouse of US citizen.  If your spouse were LPR, it would have been an issue.

Did you not submit I-765 with your I-485?  If you receive your EAD, you may work before getting your GC.

Yes but they are all processing still..

which means I don’t have my EAD yet.
I was getting freelance income without EAD. And I just realized this is illegal.
