usually I do, but he knew how important this was...he checked and double checked.

I was there , of course, but he was more worried about the organization part of it than I was.

If it's really important to him, he'll come around

I think you should tell him that it's not a question of you accepting it...it's a question of whether the Consular Officer interviewing him accepts it.

I have a very forgetful husband and this worries me. I'm so paranoid that he'll forget stuff and blow his interview once the time comes inshallah. Does anyone else have this worry?
Yeah I'm hoping he'll understand how important it is. Unfortunately when I call him on this he tells me...this is me, do you accept that or not? I think that's a cop out. How hard is it to remember a birthday? :(

Are you nervous that he'll forget the interview? Stuff in the interview? Or he forgot to get you something for your birthday?

But that whole "This is me..." bit is a cop out to not have to put forth an effort on anything. You should have asked him "This is our marriage, do you accept or not?" See what his response then would be.

I think you can very calmly explain to him that they´ll ask especific questions, and that you are simply worried they´ll pressure him and he´ll answer wrong things, screwing things up. Be very sweet when saying this, and that you´re only saying those ´cus you love him and doesn´t want to risk not being with him.

My memory is horrible. I have to write cheat sheets for everything.

The other night Casey mentioned a pizza place he eats at and I swear I never heard of it before. Apparently I had many times.

Similar problem here with my hubby, only mine dealt with AOS interview. He is bad on dates, he remember the months and years, but not the dates. I coached him 1 week before our interview, did some 'mock interview' regarding the dates with him and very patiently corrected him every time he mention a wrong date. He realized that it's very important for us so he gave his best effort on it.

Good luck with yours truly interview !!

Thanks everyone for responding! I talked to DH last night and further explained my worries. He apologized for the "that's me do you accept that or not?" comment. The man can remember that I ate a falafel sandwich the night of such and such in 2004 (no joking) but can't remember dates. He remembers months but not days. Like he remembers my birthday is in April but can't remember the day. I guess I panicked because of all the added pressure due to this visa process. I sent him a list titled "Things a husband may want to know about his wife"..with birthdates, anniversaries, addresses, phone numbers, etc. So hopefully he can memorize this list before the interview. Thanks again for the responses and advice! :D

My husband can't remember dates for anything.. For the most part I dont care (i remember the dates for him and dont mind reminding him when the time comes..) But for the interview i worry that he wont remember something and that it will reflect badly on us.. For him it is the way he is.. its just part of us.. I remember dates so he doesn't have to.. I"m pretty sure he mostly remembers my birthday but that's about it.. Sometimes i think he even forgets his own birthday! I will likely end up coaching him on the 2 hour trip to our interview in just over a month!

Funny you should mention him forgetting a birthday....

My hubby emailed me from work saying they were changing Insurance and needed my info to put on the papaers. He asked me for my social insurance number and then he said " I already know your birthdate its 06/23/63 right?! Ahhh No, its 06/24/61 He's constantly trying to make me younger !:P

I remember I kept drilling/testing him on things on the drive to our AOS. I made him tell me my full name, birthdate etc... :luv:
