Visa approved but no passport received yet. (merged)

If the 10 days pass, what do I have to do? keep waiting? I'm already worried, my status does not change from administring process and the last case update either from the day of the interview

Hello , I had an interview 10 days ago and they gave me the approved visa, everything was perfect, they told me I will receive my passport in 5-10 days but I haven't received my passport for 10 days and my status is still in administrative processing, and my last case update hasn't changed since the day of the interview
what should I do? Thanks a lot

Wait for your passport. Hopefully it will have a visa in it.

You have to wait for AP to finish. Depends on what nationality you are and on some other factors, it could take weeks, to months to years. Where are you from?

In the interview they told me the visa was approved, everything was perfect so I’m surprise is taking this time

OK that's a good sign, Germans are not normally subjected to long AP. Do you have military training, government ties or any kind of STEM background? Sometimes those also trigger longer AP. What about any dual citizenship with other countries?

 

It's not just you, everyone who is "approved" then goes through AP. It's the normal protocol, you're not being singled out.

You have no choice but to wait.  Administrative processing can be neither expedite nor waived.

Well the plot thickens.  
 

German citizens are in the visa waiver program and my understanding is that B applications from visa waived / exempt countries are usually denied.  
 

@Arm99Why did you apply for a B-1/B-2 visa?

I had a problem with ESTA and they told me that I had to apply for a B2 visa, the interview was perfect since I have everything in order and they told me that they would send me my passport in 5 to 10 days, they did not tell me anything about the 221 form or administrative processing

I had a problem with ESTA and now I have to apply for a tourist visa, I suppose everything will be fine and it takes a while to process the visa, but I am worried that the 10 days will pass

Even if they didn't tell you about it, it's still the protocol. Everyone goes through it, absolutely everyone. For most people, it's over in a matter of days.

I used ESTA too much 2 years ago, and they told me that I had to apply for a tourist visa for the purpose of my trip, which is to visit my partner, in the interview the officer asked me the typical questions and told me very quickly that my visa It was approved, so I don't really understand this delay in sending the passport, but also with the covid issue, the embassies are busy

I used ESTA a lot and they told me to apply for a visa for the purpose of my trip, I hope they send it to me soon because one gets very nervous with these things!
