There are all kinds of threads on this. I just asked the question in another thread as to why some have to go and others don't. We weren't required to inteview for AOS.

hi imaskin

just done my interview last monday july 9,

base on my interview, it was easier than the USEM.

our appoitment was 8:15 am and they called us around 8:25

before we are seated the officer told us to raise our right hand and swear that anything we say are all true. he first asked my husband what's the name of my mom and ron (my husband) told him "dolly" he then asked what dolly stand for? i answered magdalena (oppsssss im not suppose to answer since i wasnt being ask  ) then ron said he always call her by her nick name and he cant pronounce my mom's firts name "magdalena"... then the officer again asked ron for my dad's name  again he cant provide one (he's worst on remembering names) and then he told the officer that my dad passed away already and that we never really talked about him much and that he knows my brothers names... then he's being asked if he knows where my mom lives and he answered... when's my birthday, what's my name (ron provided my married name the one that we wrote on the aos form and not my maiden anymore)... and that how many times did he visit me back in phil and he said 3... when did he propose...

and then the officer asked me some questions too same thing from my husband. but since we've been thru this already during the manila interview, i already memorize all the information and facts about him... he asked me if i have met his parents and do i know where did they live, have ron ever mentioned where his birthplace is, blah blah blah... then he then asked me some series of questions about in our aos form (like have i convicted before, have i enter ilegally in the US, am i connected to a terrorist group, drugs etc)...

most of the time he focused on ron for some questions and then finally he asked ron about our marriage, how was is it, and since he's been there to phil 3 times meaning he spent so much time and he's serious about it... he just told my husband that once the green card is being release there's no turning back lol coz he said 2 of the 3 calls everyday that he receive its all about from a husband who wants to lift/cancel his wife's GC coz as soon as the wife got the GC she's long gone...lol... and the officer said that they cant do anything anymore since they're on the immigrant side... so he asked if ron is really sure about our relationship lol and i even asked my husband too if he's sure enough :innocent: hahaha... he said definitely!... so the officer congratulate us and that he said the green card will be delivered 3-4 weeks on the mail...

i prepare alot of things and a bunch of pictures from our travel but he didnt ask for it. so ron said "arent you gona look our photos? my wife really spend alot of time preparing it  ? (darn it... we argued about bringing a bunch of photos or not since he just wants 4 of them to bring, just the two of us and i told him that i read they want a lot of photos not just the two of us but with friends and family too... guess that time im wrong lol...) but the officer said he wouldnt mine looking at it. so there... hope that helps... good luck!

...as k1? really?

Most people who do not get interviews are K-1s I believe.

Now, see, that's what I kind of thought. However, I have heard of lots of K1's that have needed an interview. I was wondering if they just pull names out of a hat or something.

Yes, we were a K-1.

What I meant was: most people that don't get interviews have K-1 visas, not that most people with K-1 visas don't have interviews, if you catch my drift.
