Back here after 18 years. Filing for my new spouse from the Philippines

Hi everyone.

 

I used this forum 18 years ago when I was a foreign citizen married to an American. We divorced/split up amicably 10 years ago and I then became a naturalized US citizen. 

 

I met my current wife in the Philippines in 2017 while on vacation in Manila and traveled there to see her every 5 months before Covid. In January 2020, we became engaged and planned on marrying during the summer in Tagaytay. Because of Covid, that wasn't possible and we were apart for 2 years. In October of 2021, we got married online through Utah and I was finally able to visit her (and consummate the marriage) 2 weeks ago. I'm now back in California and we are submitting our I-130 petition soon. 

 

I see posts from a few couples in a similar situation here and looks like we're all set to go. I will be posting updates about our progress.

Congratulations!!  It sounds like you are on the right track.  Your case will be a good example for others as more and more couples are choosing the Utah marriage route to get the spousal visa ball rolling.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
