Expedite succesful?

I requested expedite of a I-130 petition by calling usicis. The request was humanitarian reasons due to the war in Ukraine. The same day I noticed the petition was approved and in the process of moving to NVC. I didn't think this was related to my expedite request but today I got the following response:

 

"The status of this service request is:

 

You or your representative contacted USCIS to notify us that you were requesting an expedited review of your case. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

 

Your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, was approved on March 04, 2022.  Since your Form I-130 has already been approved, it is no longer necessary to consider your request for an expedited review of your case.

 

We hope this information is helpful to you."

 

What does this mean? Was the expedite request successful or do I have to contact NVC to request expedite??

The petition was not expedited by USCIS.  It was approved before the expedite was considered.  You must request an expedite through NVC.  Even if USCIS had expedited it, you would have had to contact NVC for an expedite.

I'm confused because the estimated wait time for our petition is about six years and we filed only one year ago. So the long wait time occurs after case is transferred to NVC? I've read elsewhere the long wait times are for waiting for petition approval.

Usually, for those who are not immediate relatives of US citizens, the long wait times are due to waiting for a visa number to be available...at NVC.   What visa category is this?

Not sure why you expedited? Usually it does not matter but could be detrimental for dependents

Ok. I was confused by reading posts of people successfully expediting petitions for their adult children, fiancée's and parents due the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

You cannot expedite visa number availability.  Fiances don't wait for visa numbers as they are non-immigrant visas.  Parents don't wait for visa number availability as they are immediate relatives of US citizens.

Thanks. By the way, what is the point of an expedite request if it doesn't affect the order in which you can obtain a visa number?

Expedite request is for those people who are eligible for visa processing but need to wait long due to typical processing times. Your case is not eligible for visa processing yet and is so no point on expediting.

I believe EU will allow Ukrainians to live/work in EU for up to 3 years.  Canada and Japan as well, although the details for Japan is not clear.  Canada stated Ukrainians can stay "at least 2 years"
