Transferring file to NVC for consular processing please help

Hi

My attorney is asking me to pay 5000 to submit form i824 and go through consular processing.

Can I use my foreign address with USCIS and NVC so I can work on my application myself instead of depending on my attorney that is depleting me financially with no real help.

How can I receive my USCIS and NVC mail on my address outside the US instead of my attorney U.S address?

look honestly I see several reports of people complained of these lawyers they charge an absurdity for a simple thing and better you do it alone than with a lawyer

The OP's case is VAWA.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

$5000 just for the form?  or is it for more complex issues?

My petition is approved, she just needs to file i824 for me which is really simple. My case is straightforward there’s no complications that’s why I thought for her to ask this amount is absurd because all the NVC work will be online and I’ll do myself, she won’t be doing any work for me after submitting the i824 action on approved petition to request that USCIS transfers my file to NVC except that she will just receive my approvals on the mail.

so I’m wondering if I’ll be able to change my address and file the i824 myself instead of my attorney but the address is my only issue, I needed her to receive my notices on her mail in the US since I was told that I cannot use a foreign address with USCIS

I know I can totally do it alone, esp that my vawa petition is already approved so the amount she’s asking is absurd because all the work that comes after i824 I can do myself so I’m wondering if I can use my address abroad instead of my attorney’s address
