Passport Expiration

Hello - My fiance has her K-1 interview on March 17 in Mexico City. Her passport expires in January 2023 so it meets the requirement of being valid for 6 months at the time of the interview, but it will expire after we go to the US and before she will be able to return to Mexico to renew it. So she will have to renew it before she moves to the US. 

 

Do they put the K-1 visa inside of her passport? If so, will she be able to use the K-1 visa inside of an expired passport?

Yes. She carries both the old passport with the valid visa and the new passport

Says in your profile you are from New York, They have Mexican Embassies all over. Heres a link to the New York one. Go there to renew passport. Consulate General of Mexico in New York, United States (embassypages.com)
