Hello,

I am new to all this whole immigration procedure and don't know where to start. I want to bring my fiance over this year but I've only been working for less than a year.  Does one have to work for more than a year to petition for someone? What kind of proof of income can I show?

Thanks.

No.  Best proof of current income is payslips, and you won't need to submit any financial info until the consular interview.

You won't have your fiance here this year, though.  It is taking 12-24 months at least.

you should always state what country the intending immigrant is from

as a lot depends on that particular embassy when it comes to timelines and approvals

read thru the guides above and get familiar with the process

hit the word portal above and then find fiancee's country and read posts from other members to know what they go thru ]]

Have u met in person and have the documents needed like boarding pass to prove that?

Are u familiar with the income from poverty guidelines to know how much income u will need to show for the interview?

Thank you. I thought I would need to submit three years worth of tax returns.

Thank you so much.

I make way way above the poverty line, it's just that I joined the workforce only recently. I thought I would need to submit three years worth of tax returns but from the above answers, it seems I'll be fine.

not necessary as many apply and have just graduated and started working

current income is what immigration needs to see
