Yodrak,

I am not 100% positive that she must attend in person but everything I have looked into suggests that she must. She called the "Special Branch" police in Bangkok and they said she has to go there. The website for the "Special Branch" which is at:

http://sb.police.go.th/service01en.php

says she must apply in person also. I don't necessarily trust the website. It does say that Thai citizens living abroad can apply by mail. So if anyone knows a way we can avoid traveling to Bangkok, I would love to know. It would be much cheaper and easier for me to get this done in Chiang Mai or a local police station.

I wouldn't call it a correction. I am not totally convinced that it can't be done through a local police station if you know the right people to ask. This, after all, is Thailand.

I am quite thankful that Yodrak doesn't often have "mis-perceptions". He is easily one of, if not the most no-nonsense, informative posters in this entire forum who doesn't let his opinions cloud the issues. I am thankful he is on the Thailand visa team.

Regarding the police cert. issue, I believe that your fiancee has to go there in person, because an officer has to take a photo of her and she has to give her fingerprints on a unique paper. I don't think Thai local stations have that.

Yea Yodrak is great when you can catch him sober!

Only kidding...Yodrak is without doubt the single best source of information we have here on the Sawasdee thread. If you had to pay for this kind of advice we probably couldn't afford it.

Thanks Yodrak for all the help that you have given me and many many others.

Oh and I just wanted to let u guys know

How did i end up int he country that people sue each other!! :crying:

me and my hubby just got sue from our car accident in June (if anybody remember!!) But Bram siad it's the insurance company responsibility and we will be fine :crying: but still - it's sooooooo weird!! (but we can also counter sue too...

it's so weird that after the accident we got tons of letter from attorney asking if Bram wanted to sue me and I wanted to sue him and we wanted to sue the guy who totaled our car (it was a single accident - me with the rail guard - but the car was on the raod and other passed but this one hit us) and i was wondering why in the world i wanted to sue Bram and why in the world Bram wants to sue me and WHY INT HE WORLD the attorney office send letter asking if Bram wanted to sue me!! this is really a culture shock experience with the law sued thing ;)

I have had the nicest twist of fate. :)

About a week ago my boss asked if I could do some work for China for the remainder of the 2006 year, and that it would require travel to Shanghai. I told him that I already had vacations (to Thailand) scheduled for 17-30 November, and for the last two weeks of December also.

So, he asked if I wouldn't mind doing the China work on-line from Thailand (I'm a programmer), and then jump over to China between my two Thailand trips. I said 'OK'. So, I'll be with my beloved in Thailand for the last two weeks of November, then she is accompanying me to China for about 2-3 weeks, and then we're returning back to Thailand together for the last couple weeks of December. The additional good news is that since I'll be 'working' from Thailand, I don't have to count that time as vacation...so I rolled that vacation time to the first week+ of January.

So, I'll be with my sweetheart from tomorrow - early January...all of the holidays! What a tremendous and unexpected blessing.

Our Package 3 was mailed from the Embassy a couple days ago. We'll fill it out together as soon as I'm in Thailand this weekend. So, after our jumping from Thailand ->China->Thailand, it could be very close to her interview time (should be end of Januaryish <I'm guessing>).

Due to this nice twist of fate with my job, the time that AAm and I have to be apart is drawing near an end...

Its a HOLIDAY PRAYER COME TRUE!

Peace and Love to all,

Mark-N-Aam

Anyone have a saved pdf copy of form DS2053 that they can email to me? This is one of the forms for the medical. The link on the K3 section of the Embassy page is broken! If so, my email is ultimoxo@yahoo.com

It makes me wonder if they are updating this form.
