Subject : 2nd IV Inquiry PHPXXXXXXXXXX(..........???.............(Last name of your fiance'))

To IV unit,

My Application data as below;

Name: <PETITIONER NAME OR BENIFICIARY???>

Petitioner name: BRIAN

Case No: PHPXXXXXXXXXX(K1 for CAMBODIAN National )

Still have a question,

on my application data as below;

name: who's name do I use? my name as the petitioner or my fiance the benificiary???

Evolution:

Here is a reply email sent to me from US Consulate in Bangkok when I inquired about a Visitor's Visa to USA. It's probably one of those generic auto-reply for ALL Visa types to USA. It has some info that I think will help you regarding email inquiries for K-1 fiance visas (highlighted in RED). Apologize it's rather a long email reply, but I thought better to post all than partial.

====================================================================

Reply email:

The Visa Unit of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok has received your e-mail inquiry. We regret that we are unable to send a personal reply to each inquiry due to the large volume we receive daily. We have found that many of the inquiries we receive are readily answered by information available on various U.S. Government websites and this response is designed to help you access that information quickly.

If, following a review of all information provided, you still have an inquiry regarding a specific issue with a visa case pending at the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok , please send an additional email to visasbkk@state.gov with the following information:

For Immigrant Visa (including Fiancée) Cases: The subject line must contain "2nd IV Inquiry", and the case number (with prefix of BNK or PHP), and the applicant's surname. The first paragraph must include the full names of the petitioner and the applicant, the type of visa, whether the visa is for a Thai or Cambodian national, and your contact information. Please note that we are not able to provide routine status updates on the more than 7,000 cases that we handle annually, nor are we able to respond to routine questions regarding whether or not we have received your case from the NVC.

For Non-Immigrant Visa Cases: The subject line must contain "2nd NIV Inquiry." If you are writing about a visa refusal, please note that applicants who have been refused visas may reapply at any time.

· BUSINESS TRAVEL: if you have a business-related visa question, please send an email to the Business Visa Officer at Bangkokbusinesstravel@state.gov.

Effective January 19, 2006, all non immigrant visa applicants must complete the DS-156 electronic visa application form (EVAF), which can be filled out online and printed by visiting the website http://evisaforms.state.gov. Please remember to print all three pages of the form, including the third page with bar code.

Such applicants must have a valid I-20 or DS-2019 form.

If you have already scheduled an appointment for a visa interview but need to have an earlier appointment, you may send an email to visasbkk@state.gov. The email subject line must read: Request to Expedite a Non-Immigrant Visa Appointment. Please include appointment confirmation number, full name, contact telephone number, and the reason an earlier appointment is required.

PLEASE NOTE: If you do not receive an email response from the visa section within 5 working days, you should assume your request for an expedited appointment has been denied. Do not send other emails to follow up on your original request.

For medical emergencies involving a sick parent, spouse, sibling, or child, please obtain a letter from the patient's physician describing the patient's medical condition. The visa unit will contact you if an early appointment can be given.

Quick question on Packet 3:

Yodrak and others have told me that in Bangkok we can download the medical forms and get the medical out of the way before the packet actually arrives in Bangkok. This is my question:

Where they ask for the "alien case number" that is the number that the new number that the NVC gave me, correct? there is also an A number on the NOA2 - just want to be sure that it is the new case number assigned by the NVC that goes on these forms.

What is the case number the NVC gave me for? My fiance plans to bring her child with her, and her child does not have an "A" number yet - but does have to get the medical exam, right?

Well we are off to downtown Phnom Penh in the morning. Will be there for a month visiting Mariya's family and spending some time at the beach. Just in time it started to Rain here yesterday. Don't ever ask what you can bring them. Now the bags are so full I hope they don't weigh too much. Everything from peanuts to elk jerky. Mariya wants to take jars of spegetti sause. We fly out of Seattle to Teipei with only 55 minute layover then on to PNH on Eva.

First, I don't want to hijack the thread and lose Bill's question about the A number. I too am interested in getting the medical performed ASAP.

My next question is about the police certificate. Is it absolutely necessary to deliver the paperwork for the application in person at Patumwan, Bangkok? I am not in Bangkok and really do not want to have to make a special trip to Bangkok to simply hand this paperwork over the counter. I didn't see the option to mail on the website of the police "Special Branch", and it seems that "in person" is the only option. Anyone know how a Thai national residing in Thailand can get this certificate without going to Bangkok?

My fiance lives in Bangkok, so... but i believe she had to have fingerprints done. I would tell her to just check at her local police station. I will verify with my Pao next time I talk to her (tomorrow probably).

And yes, I am still waiting to know what number they use on the medical forms. The A number just doesnt seem right because that would mean they use the same number on her daughters form? I called the NVC and the person did not really know, told me to put N/A...

I suppose the doctors know how to fill the things out... We'll see - they were going to the hospital today so I should know that by tomorrow too - hehe.

OK, Pao and her daughter did go to the doctor today. The medical forms on the website are incomplete, the doctor said that everyone who downloads the forms from the website comes in with an incomplete set of forms. They have plenty of forms there, but charged 25 Baht (about 1 cent hehe) for each page. The charge was 2000 Baht for her and 750 the child, plus cost of vaccinations, total was about 5300 Baht, (about 150 USD). Regarding the Alien Case number, the doctor said to leave that blank for now.

Regarding the police report, she did have to go to a special office to get that done. She says there is one in BKK and one in Chiangmai, but I would have your fiance call the local station and see. They chared 40 Baht for the fingerprinting and the report with rapid-mail reply within 2 weeks they said.
