I am looking at the packet 3 contents on the BKK embassy site, and form DS230-I only has pages 1 and 2 of 4 pages, whats up with that? Is it that only pages 1 and two need to be complted or are there some missing pages there....

DS-230-II (pages 3 and 4 of DS-230) are not used by the consular section in Bangkok for K-visa applications.

To the best of your knowledge, can we go ahead and download the forms from the website and start filling them out or do we actually have to wait until we receive the packet? Do we have to use the actual forms they send us?

To the best of my knowledge you do not have to use the forms they send you.

But, if the forms they send you have a bar code on them, attach the blank bar-coded forms to the forms that you have filled out when you submit them, or photocopy the bar code onto the forms that you have filled out, so that the bar code can be used as intended.

Hey guys, long time no see. My wife and I have been busy working non-stop since we came to the US. If you guys don't remember me I was living in Thailand and came back to the US with my then fiance/wife (had a thai wedding ceremony in thailand first) and have been back here since april 4th of this year. Time flies!

I just had a question that I was hoping someone here could help me with. I'm trying to buy a talking dictionary for my wife but do not want to buy it over the internet from thailand. Does anyone know where I can get this:

Su had her Biometrics today. WOW only 32 from the time we first sent the AOS off. Every thing was easy with no problems. We had to go to a smaller office near the main immigration office. Now comes the long wait. I hope things will continue to move as fast they have been up to now.

On a side note the other day Su received a large package in the mail on the return address it said AOS and then the address. Wow another package from Immigration. We open it and start to read the cover letter and they were talking about Welcome to our family we are sure you will like it here.. Well the letter was from my insurance company at work and it was a welcome package telling her all about the benefits. In the fine print under the return address it said important information about you Adjustment of Service. AOS.

Bill,

Don't need to have a SS number to get married, despite what some localities may indicate in their wedding license instructions. Such instructions are written for the typical situation of 2 USC's applying for a marriage license.

A K1 woman doesn't have to apply for her SS card befor marriage, but in some SS districts it is a good idea to. Most women will take their husband's surname, and if they wait to apply after marriage their SS office might be one of those few that balks on the ground that marriage has terminated their K status.

Similarly, some SS offices won't accept a name change after marriage because the new name does not match the immigration information in SAVE. But so what? The important thing is to have the card, getting the name changed on the card can be done as much later as may be necessary.
