Hey there Erin. Getting the ticket is easy. All you need is her passport and visa. Don't forget the departure card when you check in in Bangkok. You will already have one from when you came to thailand but she wont. Good luck, Kirk n Jenny

Thanks to Bill for the BKK embassy website links, I had been on there but somehow missed those very important pages. Thanks to Yodrak also for good information.

I have another question and am glad we have this community where I can ask Thailand-specific questions. Where it asks on various forms (G325A etc) for address (number and street), we can use the house number and neighborhood (Moo) number right? That's what we use for mail and we don't know the names of some streets, especially for the former residences and former employers. For example:

Number and street: 55/129 Moo 12, Tambon Sansai Noi

City: A. Sansai

State/province: Chiang Mai

Country: Thailand

I just want to be sure there's no problems on the forms, I'm sure you all understand that!

Thanks

Erin

Hi Erin

you can also write the address as below

55/129 M.12

Sansai Noi, Sansai

Chiang Mai

sometiems even in Thai I leave out the word Tambon or Ampour too. my mail normally arrive fine .. But you can also go to the post office and ask them for the best way to write in English too. :D

Anya

My fiancee just had her interview and was approved today. They told her to pick it up the next morning. What information do I need to buy her plane tickets? I assume I need her name and birthdate. Do I need a visa number or anything else from her? I was planning to go pick her up at the end of the month if possible.

What's this about a departure card? I don't understand. Departure card for what country??? For who?

Mike

I think what he means is that little white piece of paper they staple to your passport and remove when you leave Thailand.

Hey Mike, Its the departure card for your fiance from Thailand. Get it at the ticket counter in BKK. You will recieve your arrival/departure card when you leave the USA.

Your fiance will still have the arrival portion of the card after she leaves thailand but yours was used when you got to BKK. Make sure you save the rest of her card for the next time she goes back to Thailand. Sometimes they complain when you go back and don't have it for them. My wife lost her's but they still let us in. Let me know if this clears things up.

Bonviveur,

Congraulations to you and your future wife!! I can remember that feeling way back in 2005 when my wife was approved...like walking on air

For your interest or for anyone else's interest, here is a good detailed map of the new airport I saw on the Thai Visa forum check it out its pretty cool:

http://www.boxertravels.net/airport/index.htm

Good luck again and enjoy your trip (I just returned from Thailand on the 29th of Sept with wife and son--we all wish we were back  )

regards,

George

Hi Bill

She was ask three questions, How did you meet? where did you meet? what do you like about your fiancee? it was quick she got there 8am she was back in her hotel by 11am. She was very scared, there were two of them one american lady and one Thai she told me the Thai lady was not nice she did not smile but the farang lady was more pleasant.

I am beside myself , I am at work now but barely all I can think about is getting there say goodbye and bring her back.

Hello all,

Sent my I-129F on Oct. 13!! Now thinking of how to prepare for the next part. I want to ask two questions about the police certificate. One, can you get it ahead of time or do you have to wait and request it when you have received Packet 3? Two, how long did it take to get it? The BKK embassy's info says 2-3 weeks for processing the police certificate, but it looks from some of your timelines like you got it quickly. Is there any chance of getting it on the day you request it? My fiance and I live in Chiang Mai, so we want to make as few trips to BKK as possible, but we also want to be well-prepared.

Thanks!

Erin

Hi Erin,

The police certificate is good for only 3 months. So I suggest you request it after you receive packet 3 or you're informed for the interview date at the Embassy. It usually takes only a week to get it. I'm not sure if you can get it on the same day you request it....If it's not convenient for you to pick it up by yourself, it can be mailed to your mailing address or you can authorize someone to pick it up for you. Here's the website Police Clearance Certificate

Congratulations to all the "newbies" going through "BNK" ;)

It seems like an eternity ago that we were there. :)

Anyhow, it looks like our journey is over for 2 years, and we are ready to move on with our new life and home here in Florida.

Good luck to everyone else in their journey! :D:yes:
