Thanks to Bill for the BKK embassy website links, I had been on there but somehow missed those very important pages. Thanks to Yodrak also for good information.

I have another question and am glad we have this community where I can ask Thailand-specific questions. Where it asks on various forms (G325A etc) for address (number and street), we can use the house number and neighborhood (Moo) number right? That's what we use for mail and we don't know the names of some streets, especially for the former residences and former employers. For example:

Number and street: 55/129 Moo 12, Tambon Sansai Noi

City: A. Sansai

State/province: Chiang Mai

Country: Thailand

I just want to be sure there's no problems on the forms, I'm sure you all understand that!

Thanks

Erin

I sent a package to my fiance in Bangkok using the address she gave me written in English. When she went to pick it up at the post office, they gave her a different way to write the address using English letters to insure that packages would go to the right place.

I suggest you have your fiance check with the post office to get the correct English 'wording' for the addresses.

Bill

Erin,

I enter a Thai address as I would address a mailpiece, following Thailand's address convention, without regard to the US addressing convention that the form uses. There's always a way to make it fit the available space.

Bill,

I always address mail and parcels going to Thailand in the Thai language using Thai addressing convention. Except for writing 'THAILAND' in capital letters as the last line of the address so that the USPS or courier can get it leaving USA properly directed to Thailand.

Yes, thats true there is always a way to make it fit in the available space provided on the form, but another alternative would be to write "see attachment" on that space provided in the form and just type out the address on a seperate sheet of paper.....thats what I did for the addresses and other inforrmation....it was added work but it made for a "clean" form, just a thought ;)

WOW - EXCITING!! Congratulations!!! I don't know the answer, but let me know when you find out!! I think you'd just buy the ticket, but I know when I purchase from Eva or China Airlines they make me show the credit card I purchased the ticket with when I check in. Does your fiance have a visa debit? I was just figuring I'd have my fiance use that to purchase the tickets for herself and her daughter when the time came, and we'd do it at the same time so we could get seats next to each other. I don't think you have to put any visa number on the purchase, but I could be wrong. I'd think you just buy the tickets and be darn sure she has her visa so that she can enter the US when she gets here. I think that's the way it works, but I'm hoping someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Yodrak would know :D

Again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

well.. first off... congratulation!!!!!

I dont know what u need for her ticket (couldnt remember) but i'm sure the travel agent (if u use one) would want to make sure she has the visa before the issue u the ticket (i remember them asked me several time.. if i'm sure i'd get a visa when i make the reservation)

but make sure you have her name in English as written in her passport :D

Bill,

As I wrote in my previous post, "Keep in mind always that the K visas are non-immigrant visas even though they are processed by IV posts." The 2nd page that you reference is about immigrant visas.

I gave e_b_d what I believe to be the correct answer. The web pages give the same answer. But we may both be wrong - it's happened. If you want stronger assurances or better information than you can find on the internet you want to have a consultation with an immigration attorney who is familiar with the IV unit in Bangkok.

Yodrak

Yodrak,

As I think I may be getting close to my NOA2 for my I-129F I am trying to understand what I need to do for my next step. If understand correctly, the NOA2 is actually a I-797. When I go and look at the contents of packet 3, that goes out after the NOA2 I found this page:

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/services/visa...0for%20Thai.htm

This page says I-134 is the financial affidavit to be used.

As I dig a little deeper into the FAQ section, I find this page:

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/services/visa/ivfaq.htm

....

Now, this answer does go on to say that the process is a little different for nonimmigrant visas, but it does not talk about any differences in the financial affidavit. I'm just wondering which one is correct, the I-134 or the I-864? I had come to beleive that the I-864 was something we did at the AOS process after we were already married.

I'm just trying to get clarification.

This next step is really confusing me.

Thanks,

Bill

Hi everyone,

Just to maybe add a little more clarification, here is a link to the "Instructions for Immigrant Visa Applicants" checlist from the BKK embassy. It clearly states here that the I-134 is to be used for all K visa applicants.

Thanks

Hey there Erin. Getting the ticket is easy. All you need is her passport and visa. Don't forget the departure card when you check in in Bangkok. You will already have one from when you came to thailand but she wont. Good luck, Kirk n Jenny

Thanks

Erin

Hi Erin

you can also write the address as below

55/129 M.12

Sansai Noi, Sansai

Chiang Mai

sometiems even in Thai I leave out the word Tambon or Ampour too. my mail normally arrive fine .. But you can also go to the post office and ask them for the best way to write in English too. :D

My fiancee just had her interview and was approved today. They told her to pick it up the next morning. What information do I need to buy her plane tickets? I assume I need her name and birthdate. Do I need a visa number or anything else from her? I was planning to go pick her up at the end of the month if possible.

I met my honey in Iloilo!!!
