Bill,

Try calling. E-mails can get overlooked for any number of reasons.

Hello Stone,

I would recomend you to be there. The lady at window 5 can be a real bear and 1 mistake with her and she will really shake your girl up. We had 2 meetings with her and a friend of mine also had 2 meetings (she was alone at the interview and she was shook up). If she gets the nice man as we got at window 6 you will be ok.

I would say calm down and Jai yen yen. All will be ok.

:no: I hope I will not be ineterviewed with the lady you mentioned...!! Is she the only lady in the US embassy...1 week more  and I'll have my interview.

As far as I can tell, Stone hasn't posted anything here since Sep 20th, (right after the coup) and his fiance had not received her visa yet. Does anyone know if the coup has had any affect on visa's in Thailand? At last report, Stone's fiance still had not received hers.

Mariya and I are headed to Cambodia sometime in early November. Anyone know of any cheap plane tickets. Just thought I would ask.

So far Eva is the cheapest we can find. $980 round trip from Seattle. Nobody seems to be able to beat that price.

I like Eva only one stop and less the an hour layover in Tiepei.

Thanks for any help you can give us

Sam and Mariya

Without kowing your exact dates of travel, hard for me to check, but I would check with China Air too - I've made 2 trips to Thailand and found out that on the second trip Eva was less expensive - but about a month ago I checked for December and China Air was cheaper again.

You might also want to take a look at sites like Travelocity and Expedia.

It might even be cheaper to fly into Thailand and go from there to Cambodia.

Looks like the coup is not affecting daily life for thai people very much. Even the King is behind the new guy. Well hope its better than before and they get more control over the south. Kn J

Sept 19th my family and I were in Sakon Nahkon Area ; it was strange that despite a military coup all was "business as usual", except for a day off for some workers. The only real strange thing to experience was that TV only showed government run speeches about the coup, and that only happened until 12pm when some of the regular network shows started to air again.

The week of Sept 24th , we were in Bangkok, Ayutthaya area and all seems to be "business as usual"...I did see some tanks and troops stationed along the Bangkok-Chonburi Hwy but to me, it seemed as if there was not a coup at all.

We had no problems departing the new airport and as far as tourists arriving, I saw a long line of people waiting for taxis on the 1st level.

My wife tells me that most of the Thai people liked what has happended and hope all will benefit from the take-over (I am sure there will be people that didn't like it). I am not much into politics so I'll end it here.

George

I checked expedia and travelocity and very other airlines who serve Asia and Eva was around $400 cheaper. If we fly out on the 9th of Nov it is $978 round trip with only one 55 minute plane change in Tiepei.

I posted this on the regular forum, in the RFE thread, and I think I should put this in the Thailand thread as well. YODRAK - CHECK YOUR MSGS :D

Tom sent a priority mail BOX of evidence of meeting in person and got approval in less than 30 days, here is what I sent:

copies of my airline tickets, receipts and itenerarry

copies of my hotel receipts

copies of my luggage tags

copies of my boarding passes

copies of my receipt for the engagement ring

copies of my passport with Thailand stamps

4 photos of us together

All this was sent for 2 trips I made to Thailand in April and July of 2006

The RFE specifically requests copies of bank statements or credit card statements showing withdrawals and purchases made in Thailand that include my name, location and full date.

I don't care what anyone says MORE EVIDENCE IS BETTER, THE MORE THE BETTER!

Maybe some of you have been approved with less than what I sent, and maybe it depends on who the person who is assigned to your case, maybe other factors play a role, but I am convinced beyond doubt that to send 'too much' is way better than not to send enough!

I will be posting this to the RFE thread also.

They also want more details on how we actually met.

Bill

PS I AM THRILLD THAT THIS IS ALL THEY NEED :D (unless I get another RFE  )

Bill,

Does "actually met" mean your first meeting in person - face to face - or your first contact with each other of any kind - such as in a chat room, writing e-mail via a 'dating' web site or after obtaining contact information through such a site or from a mutual friend?

Yodrak

...

They also want more details on how we actually met.
