My wife was admitted to the US on a k-3 visa she received from Thailand. We frequently travel back and forth from the US to Thailand spending about 3 months in each location. We now have the option to start the AOS here in the US (Las Vegas) or to continue with the immigrant visa processing (ir/cr-1) in Thailand. I have been looking for a topic that is more related to K-3 visa's and Thailand but have only found this one. Does anyone have any input as to which process is faster/cheaper/easier to pursue?

If someone could point me to a more appropriate thread for discussing this, that would be most appreciated.

heck this out, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=81

Thank you for the response. I am kinda hoping to find a Sawasdee thread in the k-3 section. Looking for folks discussing K-3 visa's that were issued in Thailand.

I will keep searching and hope I find something.

Hi all,

As I try to be patient and wait for my NOA2, I've been busying myself with trying to think of things to get for the house that will make the transition to life in the USA a little easier and a little more pleasant for my fiance and her 7 year old daughter. Among those things I've been purchasing are Thai language DVD's which seem to be a little hard to come by. (My fiance is fluent in English but her daughter is not, also I just thought it would be nice to have a few movies with Thai soundtracks).

I hope the moderators don't consider this 'advertising'.

I just would like those in similar situations to know about 'mychaam' on Ebay. She sells very high quality DVD's for super low prices, (if they're bootlegs, I can't tell the difference, the quality is excellent). I also place a large order with 'suponsdvdshop' as she was able to find several titles she did not have listed, but I have not actually received the order yet.

I also found a 72 DVD box set of Disney movies that have Thai audio tracks from 'magaly1980' but I have not received the order yet so I have not verified the soundtracks.

Because I had such a hard time finding reliable sources for DVD's with Thai soundtracks, I just thought others might benefit from my efforts here. I found other sources but they charge quite a bit more than these.

May be you can try a Thai, Laos, Phillipines or asain market.. normally they would have DVDs or Vedios or movies for rest.. I saw some Thai movies for rent there too (at Laos's market) but because i'm not a big fan of Thai soap  i didnt rent one... Also they should be able to tell you which satelite provider they use and so on.. I think I saw some people were discussing about this in here a long whie back if you search a bit I think you might find a good recommendation :D (may be it's in the old SAWASSDEE... hm.. i wasnt sure.

AOS = 5 months

My FIRST suggestion is to get a 'good' rice cooker :) After doing a lot of shopping online and reading customer reviews, I wound up getting the Zojirushi NH-VBC18 - again, I found the best deal on Ebay for $170. I almost paid the same amount for a Panasonic that did not have the 'fuzzy logic' or the 'induction heating' and my fiance said it was the 'old style' that most people don't use anymore :P

You might also want to consider driving school so your fiance can get used to driving on the 'right' side of the road with the steering wheel on the 'left'.

An appropriate beginning, intermediate, or advanced 'English as a Second Language' course at a local community college.

If you have not already done so, find a good calling card to Thailand that does not have extra connection fees so your fiance can talk to her friends and family in Thailand easily and cheaply.

See if you can make acquaitances in the local Thai community and maybe even establish some friendships with other couples such as yourself.

Get extra house slippers and get used to having your guests take off their shoes when entering your house or apartment :P

Get your fiance a cell phone.

And don't forget to check the maximum size and weight of suitcases for the airline you'll be using and get as much as you can on the airplane coming over to save on shipping costs of personal effects. You might even save money by upgrading your tickets so you can bring 3 suitcases instead of just 2.

GOT IT!!

Pond had her interview this morning got there about 6am. Got the call 10 minutes ago about 9:45am bangkok time. Very simple interview the woman was very cordial and caring.

The questions she was asked: (in case anyone is preparing for theirs and curious)

WHere and when we met:

how many times I had been to visit

when the last time I was there

where she will live

pretty simple. I was worried since I wasn't able to go with her.

I cannot thank everyone here enough I would have been lost without this website.
