Sorry to hear about the dog. Anyways, what are you supposed to take to the AOS interview when you already filed for the advance parole and work card. Most the stuff I already submitted. What should I use for supporting evidence of my relationship? So far I am taking

1 The wedding certificate

2 Birth Cert for both of us plus passport w/ I-94

3 Tax Returns

4 all the NOA's

5 Copyies of I-485

Am I forgetting anything??? Thanks for the advice

Well, my interview is Wed Aug 9th. I'm a bit nervouse and I have no idea why. Thisa will be 6 months pregnant at the interview so that should be more than enough proof. I have put together two books. One with all the originals of everything I filed in the original AOS application and another with copies of everything from the first book. I've updated my bank statements, payroll stubs...blah, blah, blah. Also note they ask for bills/bank accounts, insurance documents with your wifes name. I would suggest you bring those along as it is stated on the AOS appointment letter. I'm also taking pictures from several trips taken after her entry into the U.S. Bottome line: Take everything you can so you have nothing to worry about.

Have all the paperwork listed in the AOS appointment letter, some photos, and copies of all original documents. The AOS officer only took my current work letter and proof of relationship: joint bank account, medical and dental papers, I had photos but she said that was enough.

Of course every person's experience is diffrent. I will cut and paste our experience here :

the USCIS Adjudicator, Ms Peterson. She was straight business like, with minimal chit-chat. We were sworn in then were seated. She asked for Pocky's passport and removed the I-94 card. She only asked to see my CA DL and then proceeded with verifying some information on the I-485 application (Name, DOB, SS #, home address and home phone number) . She asked my wife several questions: how many times she was married, what date WE were married, did she have any children and 2 of those questions from the I-485 one w/terrorist & the other w/fraudulent activities). Ms Peterson asked me a couple of questions: how many times I have been married, do I have any children, have I met Pocky's parents, what are their names? She only asked for my employer's letter and proof of relationship, of which I provided bank checking acct & credit card statements with our names, dental & medical benefits with her name on it and I was prepared to give her some photos but she said that was enough. ( I did bring MOST of what was listed on the I-485 appointment letter)

She then proceeded to explain about the I-751 form in 2 years ( 90 days before the 2 yr anniversary) while at the same time stamping Pocky's passport with the RED INK w I-551, employment authorized statement. And that was it!! Ms Petersen then turned over to her PC to click on something then said "OK, congratulations & have a nice day!!" We returned her well wishes and walked out the door.

Good luck with the interview!!

Welcome to Sawasdee 2!

Before I posted this I first "stalked you" by looking at you posts. I discovered that you are not a "nut job"... at least not yet! I found you to be a very funny person. That sense of humor will help you in this process. Going through this I have found that this group of people on Sawasdee 2, and especially Yodrak!, have 99% of the information you will need.

Best of luck and Ask away!

Mike

PS Don't stalk me by looking at all my posts they will just embarrass me!

Ka Poon Krab

What, you dont like my 'ka poon krab'? - its supposed to mean 'thank you' - at least thats what the transliteration sounds like to me :P

MY BIGGEST questions relates to my finaces 7 year old daughter. I am getting anwers that are drving me nutts. Eveything from 'it won't be any problem' to 'you better get an attorney fast!' *sigh*...

My fiance's daugther has never know the father. The father was a farang that divorced her and split after one year, and she has not seen him since. She lived with him in South Afriica for about 6months and she left him when he was unfaithful. He divorced her exparte in SA and has since moved to Singapore, but his exact whereabouts are unknown,

She made a 'mistake' in college and the child was born out of wedlock, although the fathers name is listed on the birht certificate. The whereabouts of the father is completely unknown. USCIS tells me they don't require the consent of the father for the child to accompany my fiance on a K-2. But some people keep telling me different. I'm really confused about this.

Bill,

This should not be an issue with the US authorities as long as your fiancee can document that the girl is her daughter, which should not be a problem if she has a proper birth certificate for the girl. Many fathers of Thai children are MIA.

It may possibly be a problem with Thai immigration authorities. My wife had no problem leaving Thailand the first time they left Thailand for the USA but the 2nd time, earlier this year, they were briefly detained by Thai immigration officials at Don Muang and were sent to a 'secondary inspection' where a senior Thai immigration official interviewed them. It was brief, but it happened.

I saw a similar thing happen at Don Muang a few years ago with a Thai woman and her son who were leaving Thailand for the USA. The woman was sent to a 'secondary inspection' and during the 'interview' had to show the Thai immigration officer documents that she had from her amphur affirming that she was the sole custodian and supporter of her son as the father had abandoned them years ago and his whereabouts was unknown. (She had originally obtained these documents in order to get her son a Thai passport.)

HI! I'm new on here and I've just begun the K-1 visa process. I've got all the forms and have started to fill them out. There's no one on the visajourney that is going through the K-1 visa through Laos. And I'm hoping the Laos process is similar to the Thailand process. So hopefully you guys can help me out. :)
