FYI, Paiwan and I are officially married now. We had our civil ceremony yesterday.

We were able to get multiple copies of our certified marriage certificate afterwards. We just need a couple more things and we will be ready for the AOS/EAD/AP paperwork!

Congratulations!

I think i just got my NOA2 ....I just received this email:

Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

This case has been approved. On February 2, 2006, an approval notice was mailed.

I am excited but i am not sure what this means. Put this together with the new procedures at the US Embassy in Bangkok and i am not sure what to do next.

What information do I need and have to supply so I can I buy my PIN on the Embassy web site and set up my fiances appointment in Bangkok?

I only mailed out this I129F on 01/11/2006 WOW

Mike

Hello Mike,

Great news. You are one of the lucky ones filing thru VSC. It's all moving so slow out here on the west coast.

It's funny I spent so much time reasearching the K1 processing procedures, and just when I think I've got it down, they go and change it!!!

I am not sure how the new IV procedures at the BKK Embassy will affect us K1 applicants. You and a few others here will be the first to know. Please keep updated.

Mike

Hello Evan,

Great news. I hope our interview is just as easy and painless.

You mention you have someone helping you thru the process. I am also considering having someone in Thailand help out my fiance on that end. I am not 100% confident in her ability to take care of all the details.

Would you mind providing more information about this person. How exactly did he help you? Is he an attorney? How much was his fee?

Thanks,

:D Hello All,

I just wanted to report a successful interview in Bangkok on February 2. :D:dance:

Today Meaw and I went to the embassy at 3:00pm and picked up her passport and K-1 visa along with the sealed envelope for US immigration. The interview was a piece of cake. The consular officer's name is Thomas, he was very nice. He asked Meaw only 2 questions: 1)How many times has your fiance come to visit you?, and 2)Where did you meet your fiance? The whole thing took about 2 minutes. The funny part came when he took Meaw's fingerprints. He asked Meaw to place the index finger of her right hand on the fingerprint thingy, no problem. Then he asked for her to do the left index finger. So, Meaw, not being familiar with the process put both her left and right index fingers on the thingy at the same time. After I stopped chuckling I explained that one at a time was what was needed.

On another subject, I don't think it behooves anyone to get to the embassy at 5 or 6 am in the morning. Unless you want to get up really early and spend more time hanging out on Wireless Road. They didn't let anyone in until 7:30am. The order in which you turn in your package in at window 5 does not dictate the interview order, it was completely random. The woman in front of us got lucky and just happened to be the first interview that day. Our interview was the eighth one. Neither she or us was first to turn in our respective packages. They do 17 interviews a day, everyday. We went to the interview with the man who has been helping us throughout the process and is at the embassy several times each week. He says, Thomas(consular officer) does not even start the first interview until 9am. Sure enough, 9:05, first interview. We got to the embassy at about 7:00am, tuned in our package, had our interview and were out of there at 11:00am.

The embassy is no longer accepting walk-ins for interview dates. The forms and checklist must be mailed in and the embassy mails you the interview date. Kind of a bummer. I don't have incredible faith that they can get the mail where it is supposed to go all of the time. Case in point, Meaw now has her visa in hand and we are still waiting for her Packet 3! Good Luck to all.

:D Peace, Evan and Meaw

C.J.'s personal courier service is on its way tomorrow morning!

Well as luck would have it we ran into a problem. The I-134 form I sent had a few small problems my address says 2400 and not 4200. I also left a letter off of Su's name. Is this a big problem? If so what is the best way to get the corrected form to her? Or should we play stupid? Please help

Have to agree, get a new I-134 together, get it notarized, and ship it there the fastest way possible. Granted, it may be overlooked, but why take the chance.

:D Peace, Evan and Meaw

How did you get your medical without packet 3? We have all the packet 3 doc's from the embassy website but were told by the hospital (Ram I in Chiang Mai) that we needed some form from packet 3. We just assumed that it meant there was some other special form that we couldn't download. We haven't received the "packet 3" from the embassy yet but were told it would be sent within a week of them receiving our case from NVC.

So what's the deal with this special form? We're going to call a different hospital tomorrow and try to schedule an appointment without the form from packet 3.

me,

All forms from packet 3 on what web site? This one has some of the packet 3 material that is not on the embassy web site

With regard to Krabi, you may be having a big wedding but you are not getting married. It's an important distinction to make when a K1 visa is involved. Scratch the word 'marriage' and its derivatives from your vocabulary until after you are back in the USA and really have gotten married. And for heaven's sake, no wedding rings going through the POE.

Yodrak

Remember I told you guys that the lady in window 5 would not give my fiance, Wi, packet 3? It turns out that she did take Wi's DS230 part1 form, a copy of her passport and two passport size photos that day. She still has not recieved a copy of packet 3 in the mail from the embassy, but oddly enough, she did recieve a letter confirming an interview date! March 17th, 2006 !

Can we do this without receiving packet 3 from embassy?

Is this a new way?

I have downloaded the checklist and all forms for packet 3 that are posted on the web site. I have sent her my I-134 form along with all required documents and letters. We have paid the 4000 baht at the post office and recieved the police information. All she needs is her doctors visit.

Has anyone had this happen to them?

Our one year anniversery is March 25th 2006, and we have made huge wedding plans to get married in Krabi on that day. With or without visa! ,,,,,To get an interview date one week before our wedding is truly fantastic!!!

Yodrak,

Have you heard of a "single certificate" that must be provided in the interview? I'm reading from that link you posted and he's got something called:

"Single Certificate (Official Document Certifying Marriage Status For The Fiancé(e)) " on the site but says he doesn't know where to get it.

Has anyone had to provide this or does anyone know if it might be asked for?
