Thank you all. When I sent email to ACSBKK@STATE.GOV, they replied and stated that I need to send email to VISASBKK@STATE.GOV if I have case pending with the embassy. Now, waiting for reply. I hope to hear something soon.

Bill :D

So, you were sending the email to the wrong email address?

Your case is moving along pretty well.

Have you and your fiancee completed the packet 4 docs yet? If not, that should keep you busy for a while.

Hi Mike

Well, at first I thought the correct email was ACSBKK@STATE.GOV. But the correct one is VISASBKK@STATE.GOV.

Oh...I just received an email from consulate comfirming they have received my case. What is the next procedure after knowing they have my case? Do I have to wait for packet 3 to arrive? or I can download all the forms from the U.S Embassy in Bangkok and fill out all the forms and send to my fiancee?

Mike, I know you are very exciting now waiting your honey coming home on June 16. :D

Bill

Yes, I am very happy my honey will be here in about two weeks. :D:yes:

Are you doing the paper work for your fiancee, or is she doing it herself?

My fiancee, Wan, has only conversational English ability. The forms were somewhat confusing for her, so I completed most all the paperwork.

I would suggest you don't wait for the packet 3 by mail from the Embassy. Downlaod everything from the Embassy website and get it done NOW.

How about the police report, medical exam, etc.....???? You got all that done already???

Bill,

Now complete all the packet 3 forms and wait for the Embassy's original packet 3 to come by mail. Have your fiancee complete the original checklist. If I remember correctly, the completed checklist along with the DS230 part I (unsigned), 2 passport photos and a copy of passport, will be mailed back to the Embassy. The original packet 3 will instruct your fiancee of exactly what to mail along with the checklist.

Oh, you better write "ATTN: IV UNIT" on the outside of the envelope.

After the Embassy receives the completed checklist, an interview date will be scheduled. You can check your interview date on the BKK Embassy website using your original case number.

Hey everyone. Does anybody know what paperwork I need for Bitometrics besides the passport and marriage certificate??? My appointment is tuesday at 10am. Wish me luck, Kirk n Jenny.

you also need the appointment letters... Dont forget that!!!!.. um...what else.. she should know her A# number and her SSN# .. well.. i went there the same time i went for Inforpass for EAD so i got everything with me.. i dont really remember what else u need..

oh.. and if you want to do it for both AOS and EAD.. just take both appointment letters or the NOA for both if u havnt recieved the other one.. i walked in for Biometrics with no appointent letter (for both AOS and EAD) and it was no problemo

well.. we dont have the wedding band so i have just my engagement ring.. but i wore it all the time and now will get frustrated if i forgot to ware it.

but it's not a tradition in Thailand to ware the wedding ring...I actually never see a Thai guy ware it.. but i've seen some thai girls ware it.. so.. i think it depends on your preferences.. like Bram didnt ware a ring i gave him coz he dont ware any accessary.. which is fine with me..and he said i dnt have to ware a ring if i dont want to either.. but i ware it anyway

Dao mentioned that also, I explained that if you are married here, you usually wear the ring. I also explained that other men would make advances toward her if she was not wearing it, which I and she did not want to happen. Her argument was that she did not want to damage it and would only wear it for special occasions. My solution was to purchase a set of "plain" wedding bands that we both wear all the time, when we have our ceremony in Thailand late this year we will purchase a more elaborate set that we can wear on special occasions.

Even they see the ring.. it wont stop them.. i wore it to the club and it didnt stop them.. ;)

yea.. i told Bram too that i want something that can handle my.. um... clumsyness... and i'm afraid to lose this ring... but we have to wait for a while.. so he can get me the band that i can just wear it everyday.. now i wear this dimond ring everyday anyhow.. but it'll be better just a plain one..

ps.. i have to study how to write!!!! seems i forget everything!!

Dan, I asked Pan that question and she said that it pertains to some Thai women (perspectively the southern region) after marriage, it is remove after two days from the ceremony. It is then put away and wore again for special occassions, like party or family gatherings. She said that it's not a custom but moreless than preserving the condition of the ring. She said most Thai women don't wear it because they work hard and don't want to damage, wear out or even lose it. So the answer to your question "may be some what true" . However, as we go through changes within our cultures and traditions. This too may be a thing of the past. I too follow what Anya and her husband do. I am not a ring person, so Pan doesn't mind me not wearing it. But she wears it only as part of her fashion....lol..., good luck

I believe this is more a bhuddist-thai issue rather than solely a thai issue. My wife wears her ring at all times except while sleeping (as do I) but she is Christian.

just my 2 cents...

Hey everyone,

Just an update...my husband got the visa last week! With all the trouble of getting the documents to him, they arrived just in time for him to catch a plane to Bangkok. Phew! Well, I'm not sure how it is for K1 since we did K3, but the expiration date on his visa is two years from now. I know there's been debates on VJ about the 6 months or 2 year validity of a visa. I was wondering about that myself. Well, thanks to everyone who helped me with questions. I'm sure I'll be back for AOS.

Hey, that's GREAT advice! Thanks!

My Young Lady just got packet 3 today (yesterday evening) and is VERY nervous about all the forms. We will be chatting online Sunday about them. She is nervous about the forms, I am nervous about the Affidavit of Support.

Tell your fiancee not to worry. The interview was a walk in the park on on a Sunday afternoon. :D

I was not able to make the trip, so my fiancee went to the interview on her own. She was very nervous going alone. Only two questions were asked. As long as you have a "real" relationship, she shouldn't worry too much.

As for the Affidavit of Support, only you know your financial situation.

Best of Luck to both of you.

Congratulations to you!!! :thumbs::D
