I received an answer from the embassy, and they now have the case in their system. However, the packet 3 was sent to my fiancees old address  . Can you believe two days ago, it wasn't in their system, but now the packet 3 was already mailed out.

Just to let you, and others, know what has happened in my particular case, the NVC sent my case to BNK on Mar 10th, and from what I could tell using the DHL website, it was received on Mar 13th by BNK. I had Chutima mail in her "check-list" and associated documents on Mar 17th. On Mar 23rd I received a response from the Embassy to an e-mail enquiry by me, giving us our interview date and indicated her "Packet 4" was mailed on Mar 22nd. On Mar 27th she received her "Packet 4". To date, she has never received a "Packet 3". If I was you, I don't think I would sit around waiting for "Packet 3", since all the forms necessary are available on the BNK website. I believe there are a few members on here that actually received a "Packet 3", but the majority never did. I personally feel they don't bother mailing it out, since many of us have already printed out all the necessary forms, and submit them as soon as we know our case has been received at BNK from the NVC.

Robert

Robert,

As a matter of fact, I already have everything the embassy needs and was just waiting for confirmation of having rcvd my case. The Embassy checklist and website FAQ specifically mention not sending any documents unless requested by the embassy. I didn't want the packet 3 ending up in the trash.

Now that it's confirmed, I've asked my fiancee to send the packet 3 to the embassy. Should have the interview date very soon.

As for your case, I believe it kind of "fell thru the cracks" during the embassy's transition to the "new" IV processing procedures.

My situation was very similar in that I was "sweating out" the fact that I could not confirm the arrival of the case in BNK. I was also worried about the fact that I sent in the Packet 3. But in the end it all worked out and I probably shaved 2 weeks off of our wait for an appointment. In 20 days I will be with Jass in BKK. I love her and even though my wait wasn't long ...it still has felt very long without her.

I lost my job back in August which paid me a decent salary, now I barely make enough for both of us, especially having to shop for 2 different grocery list. Living in LA is just rediculous. The cost is so high and the salaries are some of the lowest I have have ever seen.

Anyone tried to bring Mama or Papa to the U.S.? As mentioned a bit earlier my wife of 2 months is expecting a little one. This was not something we planned but one of those 1% out off 99% issues you hear about with birth control. Anyway, I would love to fly her mom over before the delivery and for a short time after. Is this possible or should I not make the effort? She has ties to her country including a rubber tree plantation, a home, a husband and two other children. My wife has already told her the chances are ha-sip ha-sip (50-50). Any thoughts?

Rich, Congratulations to both of you on the "little one" I am also considering about a b2 visa for Mother/Father in law. We also have a baby about 5 months now and I'd also like for my wife's parents to come , especially MIL since she can help with baby while my wife tries to continue her studies.

I am gonna try for a 10 year Visitors Visa. This link has good info on that process, I am considering getting the on-line access:

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/services/visa...safactsheet.htm

I know that chances are low, but other have done it with success. Others that have done so also wrote a letter explaining their situation and also wrote who will pay for the MIL-FIl's expenses to include an I-134 to show they (the US husband) CAN actually handle the expenses.

I know all this extra paperwork is not necessary but I think I will also include extra letters like that.

Good luck to you all, especially with the baby!!

regards,

George
