Sawasdee krap khun visajourney members!

I'm so happy to be here with Wi!

Everything went well with her interview! They asker her 3 questions. How did you meet!,,, How many times I have come to meet her?,, and Where She learned to speak english so well?

She was given a card that told her to come the following day (March 16th) at 3PM, to pick up her visa!!!

I was there for that meeting. She and about 15 other girls were asked to join a man in a room, where he handed out all their visas. He also provided them information on what they need to do once arriving in the USA.

She was given a sealed envelope and was told not to open it. She was also given her passport back with her visa inside.

So,,, we will be returning the beginning of April to start the AOS paper work. See you then!

PS. The airline where I bought her round trip ticket (online) had me pay an additional fee for her already being in Thailand! You can only buy a one way ticket for her!! She is worth every cent of it!

Blacson30,

Sorry to hear about your RFE.

Apparently, addresses and telephone numbers aren't "hard" evidence as far as USCIS is concerned.

The passport stamps will probably seal the deal, though. If your fiancee has any "paper" records, such as apt. rental receipts, check stubs from her Bahrain employer, etc...., that wouldn't hurt.

Best of luck to you.

:crying:

Damn it...so damn close..

I got a dreaded RFE. They said I need to provide more evidence that my fiancee was in Bahrain during the time we met. I sent a damn Good Conduct certificate from the Kingdom of Bahrain that is only issued to people that have lived there and provided her address and work address and phone numbers for when she was in Bahrain.

The only other thing I can send is a copy of her passport (which she got scanned and sent to me via email) I received that today. So I will send that back to California tomorrow.

Anyone else have any ideas??? I hate the thought that this petition could be disapproved if I can't come up with anyother evidence besides her Thai passport. By the way, does anyone know if I need to get the Passport translated??? It's in both Thai and English anyway. :bonk:

Anyother help??? Comments??? Thanks!

Blacson30,

Sorry to hear about the RFE...once USCIS is satisfied though, the petition should get approved. The passport showing entrance and exit from Bahrain should be the best evidence for your fiancee being in that country...My opinion is that you shouldn't need to translate her passport it since its already in English.

Good luck,

George

and Congratulations Brent and Wi....

must feel absolutely wonderful to finally have visa in hand!!!

You are not to far from me I am in Atlanta. We have 4 Thai wifes here in my little circle soon to be 5.

I was worried about a rfe or admin review also as Tik has had 12 name changes. (religious belief).

I was in the army and spent 2 years over in the middle east and I dont want to return there ever.

Get the rfe and send it back quick and the noa2 will come within 1 week of them getting it back.

Dear vj members,

Visa pick up today. Yeaaaa!!! Anyway my fiancee never received a phone call from the Embassy to pick up her visa. I mentioned earlier that her visa was held for a final "computer check" and the Embassy would call her when it was ready.

Well having her flight on the 21st a monday pick up would be the latest to make the flight. my impatience was overflowing. So I e-mailed the Embassy a second time. They e-mailed me back the same day and said that she can pick up her visa tomorrow at 1500.

What I am saying to people is that if anyone in the future gets this type of call back situation--give them a day or so then e-mail them. I was very impressed they replied to me the same day yet very unhappy that they never called her back when everything was ready.

One more hour till pick up.

By the way she was only asked 2 questions at her interview--when did she see me last? and where did we meet?

Take care all

We will be so happy when we have our visa.

Counting the days until April 24th!

Jass is going back to Bumrungrad in BKK next Monday to get her second vaccination shot. She just couldn’t get it any where in Ubon Ratchathani. While she is there she is going to try to get the doctor to transfer the medical data onto the new forms(not-expired). She isn’t to sure if they will do that for her. I spoke to someone on the phone at the hospital about doing it and they just didn’t understand what I wanted. They kept telling me that the medical was good for 6 months. I wish I could make them understand what I am trying to do. Jass tried also but they didn’t listen to her. If only I could speak fluent Thai!

Please Help

Does anyone know of someone that I can hire to go to the hospital with Jass. Someone that can explain about what we are trying to do with the forms. Someone that can get them to do it. I just refuse to believe that the doctor will make her take the entire medical all over again but if that is what it takes we will do it. I really believe that the person at the desk just doesn't understand

Thanks

Greg and Nin

Las Vegas bound!!!

Congratulations! Greg and Nin

Thanks

Mike

I could have Tik explain to her about the forms being expired. She just had her medical done and knows all about it. I could have her talk to her on her cell (if she has one). while she is at the hospital.

If you want pm me and we can work it out.

Blacson,

Based on the information that you give in your post, you demonstrated that your fiancee had been in Bahrain but did not demonstrate when she had been their - and that's the question that the RFE asks. Entry and exit stamps in her passport ought to address that issue. She's kept nothing else from her trip their that indicates the timing? No receipts or other documentation of the travel to and from?

Yodrak

I hate the thought that this petition could be disapproved if I can't come up with anyother evidence besides her Thai passport. ...

Anyother help??? Comments??? Thanks!

dear VJ menbers,

Thank you for the kind words. We will have know each other for 3 years in June. Met in Scotland--me from US and her from Thailand. Small world.

If dealing with the US Embassy and something is not clear--e-mail them--I was very impressed that I got same day replies with relavent answers.

UK--you are lucky you can attend the interview with your lady--At the US Embassy my lady noted that the couples that interviewed together--the interviewer asked the guy the questions and they had a nice conversation with the Thai girl mostly listening. Visa approved.

I think if I would have attended the interview with my lady--things would have been more clear.

Mike,

My lady will be in BKK on Mon--if you want, your lady may give mine a call to poss help with the hosp thing--#0 1364 2935

Her name is Nin.

Remember she will be leaving the next day for Las Vegas USA.

Take care all

Greg and Nin

ufkenmill,

Her interview should be a breeze! Living there and being there for the interview probably helps.

I was there for Jum's interview and she was asked one question, How many times had I been to visit?

The visa was scheduled to be ready the next day at 3PM. We had other travel plans that day to celebrate and after the visa was approved, we made arrangement to pick up the visa the next week.

Hanging out in the lobby outside the interview windows while others get a visa is quite an experience. Just seeing the happy smiles and excited faces of those being granted visas to the U.S. really makes a USC appreciate the country in which we live.

Even hanging out in the little room to the right where the visas are handed out was a good feeling. And when the person's name is called, the long wait is over.
