Embassy lost Packet 3!

My fiancee EMSed all her documents, but now the consulate says they are missing passport photo, checklist and passport copy! If I hadn't emailed them, we would never have known they had lost this paperwork!

In our case, everything was in the same packet, but the consulate says it only received DS-230 (part I)

How do you ask about if they received the paperwork? What I mean is when writing the email what should you put in subject line case number etc?? My attorney sent in our paperwork should I have my attorney ask? I hope that this isnt common!

Does anyone know if interviews have been delayed because of the troubles in Bangkok?

Good luck..

These are the instructions I got in an auto-reply from the consulate:

Thank you for your inquiry to the Visa Unit of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, please read the following carefully: Due to the large number of emails received daily, we are only able to respond to case specific questions. If you need general visa information about U.S. visa services available in Thailand, please consult the following websites:

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/visas.html http://thailand.us-visaservices.com/Forms/default.aspx

1) If you have a case specific Immigrant Visa (including Fiancée) inquiry, you must resend your email to visasbkk@state.gov and the subject line must contain "IV Inquiry," the case number (with prefix of BNK), and the applicant's surname. Your email must also contain the full name of the petitioner, applicant, the type of visa, your contact information and your question.

2) For a case specific Non-Immigrant Visa inquiry you must resend your email to visasbkk@state.gov and the subject line must contain "NIV Inquiry." Your email must contain the full name of the visa applicant, the applicant's date of birth and your question. 3) To request an expedited Non-Immigrant Visa appointment which are only available for business travel, emergencies and educational/exchange travel (visa categories F,J,M) please send an email to visasbkk@state.gov with the subject line: "Request to Expedite a Non-Immigrant Visa Appointment." You must already have a scheduled appointment for a visa interview. In your email request for an expedited appointment, please include your appointment ticket number, full name, a contact telephone number, and the reason you require an earlier appointment. The visa unit will contact you should space be available. Additional visa information can be found on the following websites: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/im.../temp_1305.html http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

I have an attorney, but inquired on my own, so that's no problem.

Not correct. Your fiancee is the applicant and you are the petitioner.

Sorry to hear of your delay. I am not counting on any miracles between now and next week, either, but still praying.

I got a reply from the embassy it says.....Thank you for your inquiry. As of December 2, 2008, the IV Unit of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok has not yet received the case BNKxxxxxxxxxx from NVC. If NVC has already transferred your case to Bangkok please allows some weeks for the case to be transferred to us in both physical and electronic files. Once we have the case in the system, we will notify the applicant by mail regarding further steps of visa application process.

How long it would take to transfer the case from NVC to the embassy?

Well I got response back and have interview date on the 16th. Now I have to decide do I wait a couple days and wait to book travel to Bkk, or come through Laos or Cambodia? Very important question for all?? Can my girl leave with me out of Laos or Cambodia with no problem as long as she has Usa visa stamp?

Thanks...

PPP and Somchai is out, It should take a week for the airports to operate again.

Who knows? Apparently it's completely OK in Thailand to occupy the international airport when you don't like the government. Maybe the PPP will take a turn now...
