Ray,

I've never heard of anything like this with regard to the x-ray.

My wife did not get her x-ray and no one at the consulate asked for it. And now that I think about it, I don't recall ever seeing anyone with their x-ray at the interviews (which seems strange to me since I think that most people would reasonably expect that they need to have it with them).

The form DS-3024 of the medical report contains the result of the x-ray examination, there should be no need for the x-ray itself unless, perhaps, the examination revealed a condition that will require follow-up in the future.

Yodrak

.... When my finance had her interview she did not have her xray films with her and they let her go through with the interview and passed with no problems. She just needs to provide the xrays before they will issue the visa. ....

Ray

Ray, can you give a little more info about your case? We are going for our interview on the 20th and I need to know if I need to get the xray from the hospital in chiang mai. Do we really need to bring this form in?

Today I go the NOA1 for the I-485 and I-765. Got the whole excited feeling again. Hope things go quickly. Paiwan really wants to work and I want to take her to Niagra Falls (Canada side) this summer. But the US side will have to suffice if need be.

For all of you who have been thru the interview process, and those about to;

I'm a bit nervous about putting the originals in an envelope and sending it half way around the world.

Mike,

Since I haven't seen Ty (twellspeak) post lately, I will cut and past one of his posts on another thread that I found very helpful. Though I have not called for my tax transcripts yet, I plan to call next week, now that I finally have my NOA2! I think sending them, as opposed to your 1040's is a much better method. As for your original W-2's and paycheck stubs, you should make copies of them before you send the originals. Hope this helps you as well.

(begin twellspeak post)

What I sent was much more than was needed. Here is a list of the documents I sent:

1. Past three years tax transcripts with W2's

2. Letter of employment (notarized)

3. Letter from bank stating balance, and amount deposited for the past 12 months.

4. Prior three pay periods paycheck stubs.

Of all the information above, the only thing they even looked at was the prior years tax returns. It's always best to have as much backup paperwork as possible.

Tax transcripts are available here:

http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc156.html

(end twellspeak post)

Good luck!

Robert

Can someone please give me us a heads up about the x-rays? Do we really need to take the x-ray into the embassy for the interview? Seems unlikely that the interviewer is also a radiologist, why would you possibly need the x-ray?

Our interview is coming up in a couple of weeks and I was hoping someone could shed some light on this...

Ufkenmill,

My fiance had a successful interview on February 2. We did bring the X-ray with us. Nobody at the embassy had the slightest bit of interest in looking at it. I believe the results of the X-ray are written on one of the DS forms that the doctor fills out and sends to the embassy, so they already have the information.

Thanks for the info. The reason I ask is because there was another poster in the sawadee thread that said they refused his fiance's visa that day because she didn't have her x-ray and that they had to come back at a later date with the x-ray in order to be approved for the visa. Can't for the life of me figure out how DOS employees plan to evaluate an x-ray at their desk, is it possible that there's an in-house doctor working somewhere at the embassy complex?

We will bring the x-ray just to be on the safe side..

Thanks Robert and Mod... My dog is ok.. she's a tough cookie ^^

Anyway... I'm just wondering... about this Thai election (for the Thai spouses) ANybody able to register to vote for this election? I called the Thai embassy few days ago and they said the registration already closed on the 25th (that is 1 days after the house dissloved)

I'm just wondering has anybody got the same answer as me....if it's so then it's just a fake election and it's not fair at all (mad)

Can someone please give me us a heads up about the x-rays? Do we really need to take the x-ray into the embassy for the interview? Seems unlikely that the interviewer is also a radiologist, why would you possibly need the x-ray?

just add a little bit - I brought my x-ray also but they want only the paper that's sealed in the side of the x-ray envelop... so i guess that if you didnt bring it with you then they migth think you already open it... just my guess.

Glad to hear that your dog is okay now.

Concerning the election, it is too late for you to vote for the upcoming lower house.

According to Thai Election Law, voting registration have to be done within 30 days before election (Overseas election will be done one week in advance to the election in Thailand). It could be implied that voters have only one day to register their vote after the parliament dissolved. Anyway, the voting registration is still valid for upper house election on April 10-12.

You can go ahead and register the form now, the embassy will post a ballot for your upper house voting.
