Anyone on here have have fiancee/wife that makes clay flowers? My fiancee is thinking of making them while stuck at home while I'm at work. However I'm having a heck of a time finding supplies at a reasonable price here in North America. Price for the same brand/size package of clay is approx 5x more expensive here than what she can buy it for in Thailand.

I was hoping you could drop me a line and let me know where you buy your clay and other supplies.

Hello Everyone

I have a new question....

When my Fiancee gets her Visa and comes over to the USA to get married she would like her father, her sister and niece to come over also... to travel with her and be with her for the wedding.

Her mother would be staying in Thailand as well as her sisiter's husband and her niece is 11 and still in school. So there is "plenty of reason" for them to return to Thailand.

What are the chances of them getting a tourist visa or some other single entry visa to travel along with her whe she comes over on the K visa?

She wants me to write a letter to the embassy requesting a travel visa for them.

Also I think this would help our case for the interview and K visa as it is more evidence supporting our intent to marry.

What do you guys think about the tourist visa at the same time the K visa is granted?

And any ideas about this letter?

Thanks so much

George

George, this is one of those times where I'm glad I'm not in your shoes right now. In order for any of her relatives to get tourist visas, they will have to qualify for them on their own merits. Writing a letter won't do anything, until they fill out the required paperwork and submit it to the consulate, and see what happens. Problem is, it costs $131.00 for each visa for the privalege of trying! It would also be partially based on your fiancee successfully getting her K-1 visa, or they would have to apply directly after she gets her visa. It is not easy, as I'm sure you've heard, to get a tourist visa from BNK.

My MIL had thoughts like that, and fortunately my wife put the kabosh on it. I saw nothing but problems and dollar signs trying to do that.

Good luck!

George,

I unfortunately have to tell you roi aggie is correct. A tourist visa is damn near impossible to get. Basically, they have to prove strong ties to their home country, as well as a solid financial situation. I have heard of a woman being denied a tourist visa when she owned a business, had a car, had a home, had lots of family, was fairly well off, and still she was denied.

About the letter, that won't do anything.

To be totally blunt with you, if I was you, I wouldn't even waste my or your fiance's money attempting a tourist visa for the fam.

Roi_aggie and Littleasianman....

Thanks for the reply. She says she will come to the USA to be married even if her family can not.

She believes her Father will not have a problem getting a tourist visa because he receives a government pension and since he is elderly her Sister and Niece should be able to travel with him.

Any comments on this?

Can some people get tourist visas easier than others?

Have any of your Thai relatives be able to visit the USA?

Thanks again

George

It should be ok for her dad to get a visa since he used to be a government employee - but for her sister and niece - if they are single then it's pretty hard... her mother might have a better chance than the sister.

My parents got 10 yrs visa just fine as they are university professors.

I've seen some young Thais with tourist visa but they are still consider a dependent to the parents so depends on the age of yher sister and niece too.

Quick question for you guys.

So my fiance is flying from Bangkok to Incheon (korea) to seattle. She has an 8 hour layover in Korea. Just wondering, do they stamp her passport in Korea? As in like, I know for a US citizen we get like a 15 day visa on arrival or something like that, but for a Thai citizen, what do they do? Like, do they just tell her she can't leave the airport or something?

I guess my main question is, is she going to have problems at customs and immigration, or does she just show them her K-1 visa and tell them she's just flying through Korea on her way to Seattle for a K-1 visa?

Thanks guys

I don't think they will stamp it unless she leaves the airport. Frankly, I'm not sure if they let Thai citizens enter S. Korea (outside the airport) without first getting a visa or not. When is she coming? My son is returning Monday. I don't think my DIL will be with him unless they plan to surprise us or change their minds at the last minute. She still has an employment commitment.

I hope she is in your arms soon!

Thai Mom,

Yea, I wasn't sure about whether Thai citizens could enter (leave the airport) the country without a visa, but since she's just staying in the airport for a layover, there shouldn't be any problems right?

She's coming September 15th, so I'm really excited. She just bought her ticket yesterday and it was a LOT cheaper than I thought. She got a one-way ticket for 680.00 USD.

No, she won't have a problem. That's a good price for a ticket. May I ask where she bought it? September 15th will be here before you know it. It's time to feather the nest!

I have a travel agent who I always get my tickets from, and she's always able to find the cheapest tickets ever, so my fiance got them through her.

Yep September 15th is just around the corner, and will come sooner than expected, so I'm definitely excited haha.

When is your DIL coming?

No, she will not have a problem. She will be considered 'in transit' and will be directed through to the main airport where she will find the next gate for her departure. This airport is fairly big, new, modern and plenty of places to eat and walk around.

No, they won't. Not unless she leaves the airport. Incheon airport is modern and has all the conveniences. The layover is excruciating long, but she can find a row of benches to stretch out on.

Well, I'm getting sick of waiting for VSC to get off their a$$e$.

I bought my ticket yesterday for September. Going to see the Mrs. for 2 weeks.

Cathay Pacific out of JFK via HK to BKK.

I like this flight because Cathay has electrical outlets at each seat for the PC,

gets into BKK at 5:30pm instead of the dreaded 11:30pm,

only 1.5 hour layover in HK, and only a 2-3 hour flight to BKK.

I also like it because I can get aisle seats near the front so I dont need to fight all the maroons

with the look on their faces, "Oh? we're here?

does that mean we need to get our bags from over head?

how do we do that? oh? should I go now?

OK, everybody, please wait for ME" :P

I used www.BT-store.com this time. very efficient.
