Hey Everybody and congrats on the visa approvals.

I have been reading this thread for awhile now and now that our noa2 was approved and we are preparing for the interview I have been paying close attention to this thread concerning the interview and the questions asked at the interview.

My concern now is "the number of times you have visited each other".

Due to circumstances Joom and I have only met once for a week and that was in England.

We have plenty of phone records, emails and postal receipts to show our relationship.

Many of you have visited each other often and some of you have lived together so there is no issue there.

But what about us only meeting once?

What do you think and are there others who have only met once and had no problem with the visa?

Any comments would be greatly apprciated

Thanks

George

George,

I don't think it HELPS out your chances a whole lot... but with that being said, as long as you can prove you have a bonafide relationship it will be okay, but that could be hard if you have only met each other one time.

However, if you talk a lot via email, etc. I think it should be okay.

Basically, as long as you can prove you have a real, bona fide relationship then everything will be okay, aside from the financial info, police report, medical, etc.

To be honest with you George, and i don't want to worry you, but if I was a CO and I ran into a case where someone had only met one time, and they only spent a week together, I'd really look to see how often they talk to each other via email, chat, phone, etc.

As long as you communicate I think you're okay.

Good luck George! :)

Hey George,

I have only met my fiancee once for a two week period and we had no problems at all for our visa. However, we both have the good luck of being able to chat while at work. So during my evenings we were able to chat during her morning time at work, and during her evenings we were able to chat while I worked (minus tax season.... :innocent:). I was able to print my chat logs for two years and also show my cell phone statements showing 300+ text messages a month and the calls. I included letters, cards and postage from packages also. I am not sure how the embassy views the meetings/chat/text/phone/mail/letters etc..., but ours flew through with just one meeting.

Funny little story for you guys. Like I stated that I chat while at work... During tax season I am usually pretty slammed, but would still chat with Gam early in the mornings. Usually if I have a client with me I would tell her to give me a few...which sometimes turned into hours...LOL. But if I would get what would end up being a super-simple 10 minute return. I would chat with Gam for a bit while the client thought I was working on their return. I feel bad sometimes charging for the simple returns...want them to feel like it took me more than 10 minutes to do the work. When I was going over the chat logs to send with the I-129F I ran across a couple telling Gam my client is staring at me while I chat with you...

Cheers,

Alvin

Thanks for the replies and encouragement.

We have plenty of evidence supporting our relationship.

We commicated alot before we met in person and once we met we knew we wanted

to be together for the rest of our lives.

I'm sure all will be fine.

Thanks again.

Also I like the story. I would have felt like I was getting my moneys worth if you were doing my taxes.

I was just thinking, was I supposed to get an email from the US embassy telling me my fiance received her K1 visa? I remember someone posting an email that was sent from the embassy in BKK telling them their fiance received her K1 visa.

I haven't received that email yet.

I have never received any such email either, and do not recall seeing any reference concerning confirmation emails. No clue if this is supposed to occur. I have a beautiful scanned copy of her visa... that is my confirmation email....

Cheers,

Alvin
