Thanks. Yes I am relieved. I can't believe I'm back on the phone with the USCIS trying to locate that I-130 so she can have the option of getting a CR-1 in Bangkok instead of adjusting status. We shall see. There is a long list of pros and cons. Perhaps we should just not tamper with the situation. It's their decision, and if the I-130 doesn't get to the NVC it's made for them.

i'm late but a huge congrats to you thai mom. you must be so relieved!

Question: The Affidavit of Support says you need one for each person. So do I really have to do one for my fiancee's daughter's visa? Seems like a lot of duplication of tax returns, etc.

I will be there for the interview and give a report after we are done. Just hope all goes well.

You need to have Adobe Acrobat (Not just Acrobat Reader) to save what you fill in on most PDF forms. There's also some non Adobe PDF programs out there that will let you do it and cost less.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

I've got a serious question and I'm losing sleep over it. A couple weeks ago, I sent in a fiancee visa petition and I thought I was completely thorough with the process. I wish I had found this site sooner! I had asked my fiancee countless times over the past several months if she had been married and she said no. All the forms sent in marked her as single. Two days ago, I called her and she starts bawling telling me that she didn't want my feelings hurt, but she had been married before to some deadbeat that she didn't want to even think about. I could not believe it.

I should have seen it coming, I knew it was too good to be true. I wanted to explode. I kept my cool and asked her if she had a divorce certificate, which she did, and she scanned a copy and emailed it to me.

I know I'm probably in a load of $#1T, but what should be the next step? Call USCIS and tell them to burn my petition so I can start over? I still love her with all my heart. I'm concerned that we may have well messed up any chance of getting a visa and living happily ever after.

I'd call them and ask what you should do...or wait for the approval letter and then call. But to speed it up see if they advise you to mail it in...but you would need a case number I imagine or it will get lost in the shuffle.

Wonderful news Littleasianman!! I was expecting to see word from you soon on here. WOOT!!!

“A man reserves his true and deepest love not for the species of woman in whose company he finds himself electrified and enkindled, but for that one in whose company he may feel tenderly drowsy.”
