I also noticed that the bottom of the DS3025 it says" Give copy to applicant" which they did not do for Jass.

Thanks for your opinions

Mike

Not sure why they didn't, they gave one to C today and explained what she would need it for along with explaining every other doc. We went to Mcormack hospital in Chiang Mai though which was started by foreigners (over 100years ago) though which may expalin that...

Did you make a copy of it yourself? If not, you'll need it in the US for your AOS.

Sounds like quite the medical exam! I can just hear the nurse saying "ไม่เป็นไร ไม่เป็นไร", and you saying "ไม่ใช่... เป็นไร เป็นไร"!

Speaking of sending in the checklist and other documents, who on here has acutally "mailed" their checklist, DS-230 Part I, Photos, and copy of their passport? What address did you use? Did you just use the following address?

U.S. Embassy Bangkok

Yeah, my response was definitely "ben rai!". I was kindof surprised at her insistence that it didn't matter when all I was asking was for a strike-through of an incomplete section along with the doctors signature. Didn't seem like much of a request to me...

Not sure about the mailing address for the IV section but that is the general mailing address you wrote. Also, address it to the Immigrant Visa section so it can get to the right dept quicker. We dropped ours off in person (actually had a friend do it for us before the new reg's) so not sure.. maybe someone else can comment..

Hello Visajourney friends,

Wi recieved a phone call from the Bangkok embassy today requesting to move her interview from March 17th to the 13th saying that they will not be giving interviews that day.

Also told her that they want to see her with all her papers and passport this Friday, The 3rd of March to review papers and to be ready to surrender her passport to them at that time until Visa is approved. This means she has two meetings. One for packet 4 and one for interview.

By the way, Wi downloaded all her medical forms from K3 list of forms from embassy site. The doctor had no problem using them.

This may be the new policy? Two meetings? I haven't heard of this being done yet. And am worried about surrendering her passport to them.

Any guesses about these requests from them?

Thank you,

Brent

Brent You said that she used the forms from the K3 list on the embassy web site BUT that is not what you said earlier

"Hello all,

Wi went to get her medical today. She was turned away for only having the three forms we downloaded from the Bangkok Embassy Site. She was told to return when she has all six forms that are provided for her in packet 3.

We still have not recieved packet 3 from the Embassy. The three forms she has is DS3024, DS3025 and DS3026 along with BKK-MEI (Instructions)

What 3 forms is she missing?"

whats up with this? YOU ARE THE ONE THAT PUT US ALL INTO A PANCK OVER THE FORMS FROM THE WEB SITE! I USED THE JAPAN FORMS BECAUSE YOU SAID THAT SHE WAS NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE HER MEDICAL...PLEASE EXPLAIN?

Robert,

That's not the embassy address - it's the consulate address. But then the consulate - not the embassy - is where you want to send the material.

As Ken suggested, you might also want to include 'Immigrant Visa Unit' in the address to help the consulate's internal mail system get the package to the final destination more quickly and reliably.

Yodrak

Yodrak, you worry me sometimes!!! I thought I was #######! Actually, I cut and pasted that directly from the BKK... oops, I meant BNK website!!! Their words, not mine! Look and see!

Bangkok U.S. Embassy

Consulate, Embassy, BKK, BNK... I think we all know what we're talking about! Wireless Road!!

The Embassy is in fact at 120/22 Wireless Road, while the "Consulate" as you call it, which is Immigrant Visa, NonImmigrant Visa, and American Citizen Services is at 95 Wireless Road. Even their map shows that building as the "U.S. Embassy", so you can see it is quite easy for people to get confused when you say "Consulate", but everything they have on their website says "Embassy"

Robert,

I can't see someone mistakenly going to the embassy when you tell them to go to the consulate, but I can see someone incorrectly going to the embassy when you tell them to go to the embassy but should have told them to go to the consulate. Especially in Bangkok, where the embassy and the consulate, as you have observed, are on separate grounds.

Yeah, the embassy in Bangkok's web site does contain some inaccuracies, and would you believe it - the USCIS web site does also. As does my company's web site, and even the VJ web site! One always has to be careful about what they read, no matter where they read it.

Thanks for your concern, I apprecitate it.

Yodrak

Ok, everyone

Tik's medical is DONE ! :dance::dance:

She is healthy and has the xray and sealed envelope.

we used the 3 forms from the embassy web site and the ds 2053 that was on the dept of state site.

She had to have her pasport and 2 photos for the forms.

They gave her the shots according to the shot record since she had no prior shot record and they made a copy of the form for shots and gave the copy to her.

I was a little upset because the doctor said with one of the shots she would have to wait 6 months before she gets pregnant to insure no problems with the baby :crying: I was thinking she would be pregnant in the 1st month she came here but now we have to wait.

Dennis,

Great news! I'm also glad to hear they gave her a copy of the shot record. I was wondering about that. I gave Chutima two copies of the DS-3025 just in case!

For all you veterans out there, I have maybe a silly question. Since we will turn in two passport photos along with the checklist and DS-230 Part I, do we still need to attach a photo to the DS-156 form?!

Also, I have a question concerning the Police Certificate. Most Consulates call for a Police Certificate from everywhere lived for more than 6 months since the age of 16. The Thai instructions just say go to the address there in Bangkok. Is that a "one size fits all" certificate for Thai citizens? Or will they ask where she has lived in Thailand, or does she need to request one for each place in Thailand that she's lived for an extended period? :help:

Mike,

I am not trying to put anyone in a panic. Just trying to help. Obviously the embassy has started a new process and we are the first applicants to go through it. There are some wrinkles in the new system that will be soon ironed out.

Wi did download the medical forms from the K1 first,,, and was denied seeing the doctor due to her missing some forms. So she downloaded the forms from the K3 section and went again,, where they did approve them. These are my statements

We did not recieve packet 3, we recieved only packet 4, which did not have the medical forms in them.

Now she has two meetings at the embassy. One to give the all required documents on March3rd and the final interview on March 13th.

These are facts. This is what we are going through now with the new process. Just thought you fellow Visajourney may want to know.

I apologize if I have created a panic to anyone who has read my posts.

Good luck to you all.

They gave her the shots according to the shot record since she had no prior shot record and they made a copy of the form for shots and gave the copy to her.

Dennis,

:help:

Robert

Police certificate is a one size fits all. You must go to the location in Bangkok. Tik took her id card and pasport -2 photos and her name change documents -- Thais change their name for religious resons so if she has had a name change be sure to have her take that document also.

If she has lived out of country for 6 months or more you need a police report from that country also.

Robert,

Never did need to attach a photo to DS-156, still don't. Give them the photos, give them the form, they'll do any attaching.

The instruction provided for the police certificate in Thailand accurately reflects the police certificate situation in Thailand. (It wasn't all that long ago, 4 years maybe 5 at the most, that a police certificate was not required for Thailand because there was no such thing in Thailand.)

Yodrak

They gave her the shots according to the shot record since she had no prior shot record and they made a copy of the form for shots and gave the copy to her.
