George - If it was sent to Thailand, then that is what was entered on line 20 of the I-129f. If she is living in the UK, then she could have interviewed there (a friend of mine had a fiancee' from the Philippines that worked as a nurse in Italy - she interviewed in Milan). Don't know how you would change that now, though.

John

Hey John

Thanks....I talked to her yesterday and we decided it would be better to return to Thailand.

I think she would be more comfortable there.

Now she wants to finish this class because she can get a certificte of completion or something like that so she won't be leaving England until some time in September.

We might have to get an extension on the I-129F as it expires in October.

Thanks again for the reply

George

Thanks Thai mom,

Ohhhh still waiting! Her interview was at like 8 AM, and she's still at the embassy.

I have never been this uptight before, the waiting is just so difficult!

I have been pacing around my room, went driving, I don't even know what to do!

I'll let you guys know what happens!

Hey everyone!

My fiance had her interview today and although we didn't have the police report, she said the interviewer was really nice and told her that all our papers are good, and everything is okay but that she just needs to turn in the police report whenever she gets it and they'll issue the visa in two days, knock on wood!

The police tried to say that they'd have a new police report by the 27th of july, but i guess my lawyers flipped out at them and told them that they made a mistake and that they need to fix it, and that they expect a new report way before then, so I guess the police told them that they would make a new one as quicjly as possible, but that if we wanted one quicker, we could pay to get it quicker. Eh slimeballs.

Anyways, hopefully everything works out okay and we get the report soon!

That's wonderful news! I'm glad to hear that the CO was nice to your fiance. I think she'll have that police report in hand long before the 27th.

Oh yea, forgot to ask, so they told my fiance that she needs to turn in the police report, and after they issue the visa, but then they gave her back her passport, her medical report, her family book, and all evidence of relationship. But they kept all the affidavits of support, financial information, her single certificate, etc.

They told her to come in any Monday and bring back her passport and her police report/

Is that normal to give back the passport?

Thanks, and am I just finding things to worry about?

Wow, sorry for cluttering up the board, for some reason it double posted. I tried to edit into my other post that the interviewer told my fiance "dont worry, everything is okay, you're papers are okay", but for some reason when i edited that in it decided to repost the entire thing haha.

Hi,

My interview was last June 23. I didn't notice that my police clearance in the Philippines doesn't have any dry seal on it. The interview was fine but the consul returned my passport together with all of our evidence of relationship and I was told to submit the police clearance the next Monday. June 28 ( Monday), Thai staff took my passport and police clearance and said they are going to call me up after a week. It's been a week now but I haven't heard anything from them.

Daryl and Tere,

Well thats concerning for sure. Have you tried to contact the embassy via either email or phone? If not, i would try to do that, if so, what happened?

It's been exactly two weeks since you had your interview, but 8 days, or about one week since you turned in the police report. Actually, now that I think about it, I guess that you shouldn't be worried yet right? As that's 8 days, counting non business days.

Dagobert,

Sent you a private msg. but then thought about it and realized I should probably post it on this page too as it can help some people out who may be worrying about not having a police report present at the interview (people including me haha!).

You mentioned in an earlier post that your fiance went to her interview and didn't have her police report and then went back and turned it in and now you guys are in the process of waiting.

Has she received her visa yet? I hope so. We're in the same boat as you now bud!!

Hope all is going well, and hoping the long hiatus from the sawasdee thread means you've been too busy celebrating and making plans for your fiance's arrival!

Littleasianman,

I saw your post after I replied to your private message. I could not find a copy of my sent message to you to paste here. When you get it just paste it here in reference to your above post.

Cheers

i absolutely love the fact that you can sometimes grease the wheels in thailand and i'd be greasing that police wheel!!!!!! it would be a cheap price to pay for the priceless peace of mind it would bring. (if thailand was the grand ol' usa ... you'd probably have no "slimeball" option and have to wait it out (no matter who made the mistake))

either way, it always seems work out in thailand.

congratulations,

dvd

hey everyone, here is dagoberts update on his fiance's visa

QUOTE

Hey alvin,

Just wondering, is your fiance still waiting for her visa, or did she get it?

I remember you saying she was waiting on the police report, and that she turned it in and was then waiting for the visa.

Thanks!

Hi Littleasianman,

She is still waiting. She has emailed them numerous times without response, and when she called they told her they were unable to give any information and that she would have to wait for the email. They still have her passport and she is need of that before July 13 as she has to fly to VN for work. So she is in need of completion more for her passport than for her visa as she doesn't plan to come here till October.

I am assuming the extended times is just typical bureaucracy and they are slowing down the issuance of visas for some internal reason.

Cheers,

Alvin

Hi everyone-

This is just an FYI for anyone who plans to have their medical done in Chiang Mai anytime soon. I went with my fiance over the weekend to have his done and we had a really good experience with McCormick Hospital. They were very organized with the paperwork and procedures for everything. They actually asked him to come twice, once to get the blood tests and x-ray taken, and then to come back for the appointment with the doctor for the physical exam when the results of all the tests would be ready. We went Saturday morning for the blood work and x-ray and were in and out in under 30 minutes including time for registration at the hospital. We then went back Monday morning to meet with the doctor and get vaccinations. The only age appropriate shots for him were MMR and Td, although he will still need to complete the series for both of them, which should be done by the time we apply for AOS. The exam was 2,000 baht and the two shots were 1,300 baht, so a grand total of 3,300. Not bad... The nurses had already typed up all the forms before we arrived Monday morning, so they were ready for the doctor to sign off and for us to take home as soon as the appointment was over. All in all, we were pleased with the whole experience. Just thought we would pass on the information...
