The secret address (not really). Just make sure the subject line is 1st IV INQUIRY, your BNK case # and your full name. You might not hear back until tomorrow but don't sweat it. They have been very nice to me even calling my fiancee to tell her how to make sure to do something.

This worked great. The regular email just got me no response, I resent the messages exactly the same to the "2" address, and got a reply back by 9AM Bangkok time.

But now I've got a problem and want some advice.

They received her packet 3 on June 16th. They've scheduled her for a August 1st interview. She hasn't done her police certificate yet and we were planning to do it on July 14th when I come to visit.

Am I correct that there isn't enough time between July 14th and August 1 to get the police report back? Do I need to have her fly to Bangkok ASAP to get the police report done?

From what I have seen on the board, sometimes it takes up to a month to get the certificate from the police. I think I'd play it safe and have her work on it right away. If you get it quickly, that's great. If it takes some time then you will have some leeway. Glad the email worked.

Our Packet 3 will be delivered today after two other unsuccessful attempts at mailing it to them from BKK. This time I finally got her to send it EMS with a tracking number...but she didn't include the checklist!!! So when they notify me they received the packet, I am sure they will tell me what's missing and thankfully she is doing the checklist today and mailing that out EMS today also. I am hoping for an early Sept interview date and it looks like they are about 6 weeks out and not the 12 they told me. So hopefully I will hit it just right.

Just to add to the confusion, I called her to tell her I got an email with the date for her interview. She told me she got a call yesterday from the Embassy saying the August 1st date was going to be rescheduled due to some event taking place at the embassy. So weird.

Looks like she's going to have to take a trip to Nakhon Si Thammarat to get her household registration (she only has a copy), then fly from there to Bangkok on Tuesday morning to do the police paperwork, and then fly back to Phuket. Not fun booking flights on short notice like this. I REALLY REALLY hope everything goes smooth and we end up getting the police report before the interview date.

Hey I'd be careful about the police report. Those idiots working at the police station there gave my fiance's paper to some other moron, and that moron who has my fiance's paper still hasn't brought the paper back to the police yet.

Basically, we're dealing with a bunch of morons who are incompetent.

I'd get it as soon as you can, although I guess it's uncommon for this to happen.

Sorry guys, I'll quit with the bitter posts. I'm just really annoyed.

Anyways, when sending financial documents in, copies of tax returns and W2's copied by a COPY MACHINE are okay right?

Thanks

It probably too late for you, but I will just be providing them my tax transcripts. They're free from the IRS and take about a week for them to send you. They have an automated phone system to order them. That way you don't have to send it your tax return or W2's.

Shawndoc,

Thanks, but yea too late haha. I am having to send in my w2's from this year as well as my co-sponsors (my mothers) tax returns and W2's from 04, 05 and 06.

Also for the question on the affidavit of support:

That I intend or do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3, what did you guys put for this question?

For my co-sponsor, what would she have to put?

Thanks

I put the following:

"N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence )"

I got that text from the example form on this site. (underneath search on the menu above)

Hi Little Asian Man,

My son and I just wrapped up the I-134 and supporting documents tonight, so he can get it notarized tomorrow and then hand carry the package to Thailand on the 8th. We found out today that his wife's interview is July 24th and he'll be able to be with her. After reviewing a lot of threads, for 11 he checked "I intend" and then wrote "K-3 Visa -living expenses indefinitely", because that is the truth. I don't think it matters that much what you put. As for your parents, something to the effect of "safety net" (perhaps not those exact words) would seem appropriate. He is going to try to wing it without his Dad co-sponsoring, as his employment letter and pay stubs for this year are strong. I only work as his pro bono paralegal :star: He also has managed to put some money in the bank, and both of his banks did cough up letters. He did have to write a letter that he'll have notarized explaining why he didn't file income taxes for the last two years. He also explained his whole financial situation and his ability to prevent his wife from becoming a public charge in the letter. The guy at the visa information center said to do this. You might want to consider writing a notarized letter if you did not file taxes in 2007.

You are almost to the end of this leg of the journey! I wish your fiance well at the interview.

Thai Mom

Question for those of you that have sent Packet 3 EMS to BKK embassy. Ours was delivered yesterday but the recipient only says RONG MUANG.

Is that what everyone else got that sent theirs EMS to the embassy? They don't put the name of the actual recipient but the area?

and that moron who has my fiance's paper still hasn't brought the paper back to the police yet.

Littleasianman,

Don't hold your breath on them ever returning it. My fiancées cert was given to the wrong person in her condo and even she said they would never return. They would trash it she stated. She said the condo owner and mail clerk didn't care at all they made a mistake because there was no monetary value to the letter. She said had there been a value on it they would have tried to locate it...so they didn't have to reimburse her. To say the least, this surprised the hell out of me.

Cheers,

Alvin

dagobert,

Yea it's unbelievable how things work there huh? You would think that people would do the right thing, by returning something that doesn't belong to them. I guess helping one another out is too much to ask, and if there is no monetary reward for helping, well then screw it.

So since you didn't get it back, how did you get another paper?

Unreal how unorganized these idiots can be.

Just a little update. The embassy actually called my fiancee and told her not to come on the first of August as scheduled in her packet 4. They told her to disregard the packet 4, and that they would send a new one later. Apparently there's a "meeting" going on that day and she won't be able to attend. So it looks like I've got a few extra days for the Bangkok police to run their report.

The weird thing was she was called the day BEFORE the embassy emailed me the date. I sent another email to the embassy and waiting for a reply.

Does the report have to be dated within a certain time period of the packet 3? I just filed the I-129F to VSC, which I know will (hopefully) take about 90 days. Is there any reason my fiancee can't get police clearance now, just to make sure there's no last-minute SNAFU? What about the medical stuff? She has a copy translation of her "house book" already. Does she need an original? One more thing: there's apparently a paper that proves she's single (not married) that the CO will want to see. Can she get that now?

I was just in BKK for the last 2 weeks. I stopped in the embassy and asked the interviewer at the window how long the police report was accepted. SHe wasnt sure and came back 5 minutes later telling me its good for 1 year from the date of issuance.

So, I see no reason why a little early before getting the P-3 wouldnt be a bad idea. Actually, I am going to go get my wifes when I return in September. I doubt we'll have our P-3 by then anyway, but ought to be close enough.
