i need some help and hope someone who has already filed aos can help. i am gathering the documents for my husband and realized that he doesn't have a copy of the medical. so he got the shots etc and failed to get a copy. has anyone been able to contact bumrungrad after the fact and get a copy? (i still have all the information relevant to his appt. since i made it for him online.) but i am worried about him getting the medical shots again don't think that's wise also cost prohibitive since you cannot use insurance for that.

any advice is very much appreciated.

:help:

Nobody?

Are you referring to the entire medical or just the immunization record? We did not receive the medical info (from BNH), but they did give us the immunization record (DS-3025). I would think Bumrumgrad would fax or e-mail you a copy of the immunization records. I agree, I wouldn't want to get the immunizations again.

In our case, Rin's immunizations were complete, but the children's were not. We got them at the pediatrician's office and they were 100% covered by insurance (our insurance covers "preventive care" 100% without deductible). The civil surgeon exam (Rin only) can also be turned into my insurance, but I have to do that myself - the CS had to be paid in full at the time of the exam - and the insurance will re-imburse me directly (since my insurance allows one physical per year to check general health).

Little Asian Man,

You might want to call the visa information center here in the states and try to get some clarification. I posted their number and fax a few posts up. I thought they were helpful and knowledgeable, unlike calling the USCIS. (Note- it's not the same as the national visa center)

Thai Mom

So I was able to get a response from the embassy finally. I asked them about the co-signer situation I had where my co-signer filed taxes jointly.

Basically, they responded with this email where they told me that they don't accept co-sponsors.

The talk of the medical reports got me thinking. What can I do for insurance for my fiance when she first comes over? I believe we have to be married before I can add her to my medical plan. What is the best way to get insurance for the time between POE and when we get married?

What I did for my (then) fiancee was purchase traveler's insurance to cover her until we got "officially" married. There are numerous companies. Google "traveler's insurance" and best probably to call and ask for advise from the company you choose. If interested, the one I chose was called Travel Guard International.

Good Luck! :)

My I-129F expires on June 24th, which is Tuesday. My fiancee is taking her last piece of needed information on Monday 23rd. She said that about one lady she read the visa was denied because the I-129F was expired even though she passed the interview, but the date they told her she could pick up her visa when she came they told her she could not get it. Seems rather strange to work like this, but I could see it happening. I will try to contact USCIS to see what I need to do.

Anyone else run into this?

Alvin

Dagobert,

Unfortunately I am not too sure about that, but that doesn't make sense as to why they would do that. I have heard that the date of the I-129f expiring doesn't matter as long as you have your interview scheduled, etc.

However, if you were to wait like 2 months after the I-129f expired to send in packet 3, then I'd be worried, but I have heard that it doesn't matter when the I-129f expires as long as you have your interview, etc.

Because if you think about it, what happens if the embassy takes a long time to schedule your interview, and your interview is scheduled for aft erhte expiration of the I-129f?

I am not 100% sure but I would think you guys will be totally fine!

My fiance has her interview on the 7th of july, and I AM VERY VERY EXCITED FOR it but I am also 1 billion times more stressed than before.

I know this question has been asked 17 trillion times, but the tax returns, etc. can be copies right?

Ah I am flipping out about gathering all the documents, etc. in time for the interview.

My mind is like going crazy haha, I knew off hand all the documents I needed to send for the interview, but now that the interview is coming up I've just forgotten what is needed

I have a question about the DS-230, question 33a and 33b. It asks if you want an SSI number and you check yes or no, and then the disclosure is yes or no to release information so you can get the SSI number.

I assume this is so an SSI number can start being processed after they get the forms or what? If someone can give me some clarification on this I'd appreciate it. I told my girl to check yes on both for her and her daughter since we are now sending the Packet 3 a THIRD time since the embassy says they have not gotten the first two and it's been over a week for the last one mailed EMS in BKK...and she threw away the tracking number. She is visiting family in Korat for a couple weeks and I am having her FedEx overnight the packet this time and sending me the tracking number so I can see that they received it.

So, my dear friends with lots of informtion, will checking yes on 33a and b speed up the issuance of an SSI or not?

Thanks!!!

Tom-

Unfortunately a SSN cannot be issued to our fiances through the K-1 visa process because the K-1 is a NON-Immigrant visa. It can be confusing because some of the forms they are required to use are actually Immigrant Visa forms (as well as Non-Immigrant forms) so some of the information does not really apply. It doesn't hurt anything if she answers "yes" but it just won't be processed, from what I understand. The ability to apply for a SSN before entering the US is meant only for those people who will be entering on an Immigrant status, which is not the case for people holding a K-1.

She will still need to apply for the SSN once in the US. You can get some further info here: http://www.ssa.gov/ssnvisa/.

Hope that is helpful.

Wow, so the idiot thai police have screwed up on my fiance's police report.

They gave my lawyers the wrong persons damn police report and it took them one week to tell my lawyers they could pick the correct one up.

Freakin idiots, someone needs to get fired there.

Sorry that was harsh but I'm just pissed off and stressed cuz my fiance's interview is in less than twoweeks.

Littleasianman,

You are correct, I was worried about nothing. The official told her that doesn't matter, and she said maybe that girl did give all the information about her situation. I really want to tell my fiancee to stop using that website she does...as the information she gets from there always seems bass ackwards.

Alvin

She gave the embassy the information that was missed on the first interview, her police certificate. The official told her that the embassy would contact her when she can go back. They told her that if she has not heard from them in two weeks she should contact the embassy. She asked the official why this will take so long and they told her the embassy computers are not that good now. That sounds like a BS answer to me...has there been a slow down in the process? Granted I take anything from the other visa website with a grain of salt, but one lady had an interview on June 18, was told could pick the visa up on June 20, but the embassy called and postponed her. I was at least expecting them to tell her pro or con what happened.

Cheers,

Alvin

Congratulations Marryme!!

They did tell her she passed the interview, but will take a while to get the visa. Now I feel much better! Hehehehe
