Hey guys,

So basically, my mother who is going to be the co-sponsor for the visa case just told me that they (her and my dad) haven't done taxes as they got an extension because they were out of town.

Also, another thing is my mom just informed me now that she files taxes with my dad, so does that mean that they BOTH have to sign an affidavit of support and BOTH give them to me?

AHDBHIBFDBFDSHBFHJFBVRHSVLBFHVJN this is so ANNOYING that my mom decides to tell me this NOW.

So my two questions are;

1) For current income taxes, if she hasn't filed for this year, then will last years and the year befores be sufficient?

2) Mom and dad files taxes together, do they both sign an affidavit?

Thanks!

I'd also try to get some recent paystubs from your mom to hopefully supplement the missing tax forms for this year. That should at least help show that she is still able to be the cosponsor. Also see if you can get a notarized copy of their tax extension to send in as well. I don't think it'll be a big problem if you can send them something to show her current finances. Being that you are getting close to interview time I'd also recommend sending them FEDEX so you know they will get to her within a few days. I've never had any problems with my stuff getting to her via FEDEX. No need to risk stuff getting lost via snail mail. Good luck to you man! I hope all goes well for you and your fiancee.

Ohhhh, the nerves!!! My fiancee is going for her appointment in oh......about 45 minutes. I feel like Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now "the horror, the horror". I called her to make sure she woke up early enough.... :star:

If I bit my nails, I would have no fingers now...LOL. Either way, I know we will not get the visa today due the fact she is waiting on a second police certificate, but I am worried how the official will react to missing such an important piece.

I hope they treat her with respect and that everything is smooth.

Dagobert,

let us know how it went! I'm sure it went well.

Has anyone tried contacting the US embassy in BKK lately?

I am aware of the format required to email the embassy as I have sent like 17 emails to them, however today I keep getting the automated message sent to me, and i've never gotten it before.

Maybe they blacklisted my email address haha!

Hi guys,

I was going to just copy and paste my fiancées email, but she said “MAI”. She told me to rewrite it and then post it.

First thing she said was that the visa website she uses posted that she will not need to get a queue number, but after waiting for a while she realized that she would need one of these. After they separated the tourist from the immigration individuals she went to window 5 to check the documentation. They said everything was ok with the documents. She was worried because the information I provided had two holes (on her site they said you can’t put holes in the documents) in the top of the sheets, but they told her not to worry about that as they are very neat, just worry about the police certificate.

They checked over the provided documents and she said just wrote my name on the DS156K and she was told to have a seat and wait. She began her waiting at around 7:55am and was the last person in the room when the officer called her for the interview at 12:15pm. She said the questions were pretty simple, and tomorrow she will give me those questions in detail.

Basically he told her to submit more information concerning the police certificate and that she can submit it on any Monday between 13:00 – 15:00. He returned all personal information back to her (emails, chat logs, cards, letters etc…). She said that the official/interviewer was nice to everyone, but seemed very tired. That was one thing I was worried about as some reports I had read is that they do not have such great people skills at the embassy.

Hey bud,

I was on email number 8 when I gave up. I am thinking that maybe the email was attached to the file that they have and did not see any need to respond. Just my guess really.

That sucks. I'd give the mail lady a day or two more to find the letter. If not, then you'll have to decide which is better, calling/emailing the embassy and asking for the interview to be pushed back, or going to the interview and getting the equivalent of an RFE at the end of the interview.

Personally I'd ask the embassy for a delay. At least then you've got a solid date to work with instead of going into limbo.

I have emailed the embassy twice and keep getting an automated response that says the same thing. It seems you have put specific items in the subject line so it doesn't get booted to their version of spam blocker. Even putting what they request in the subject line I get the same response. I will keep trying...

Thanks for the info,

Alvin

Alvin,

You need to put the following in the subject line:

You need to first put how nmany inquiries you've made FIRST. for example, 1st IV inquiry or;

<x amt. of inquiries> IV Inquiry <YOUR BNK NUMBER> <BENEFICIARY NAME> (applicant)

So it should basically look like this:

5th IV inquiry BNK20082222222222 Oprah Winfrey (Applicant)

Yea, good luck with that...

Theerak,

Like I mentioned in my last post regarding trouble emailing the embassy, I am WELL aware of the format required to send an email to the embassy

Yea, good luck with that...

Theerak,

Like I mentioned in my last post regarding trouble emailing the embassy, I am WELL aware of the format required to send an email to the embassy. why else would I post the required format if I wasn't aware of it?

What i was saying in my last post was this format is no longer working for me, even though it worked about 15-16 times before.

That is why i asked if anyone has emailed the embassy lately and whether or not they have gotten the automated message when using the correct FORMAT...............

I get that... what I'm saying is "good luck getting anywhere with e-mailing the embassy". I had a really bad experience with them and have heard from many others that they weren't getting anywhere either.

For those of you who have had your fiancee arrive in the US lately...

Did you accompany him/her?

Did you ask for/receive a work permit stamp in his/her passport?

It looks like I was trying to email the embassy about the same time as you. After three tries I gave up and decided to try later. They depend on people giving up. I know that I have the format 100% right. Perhaps it was because it was Monday, or a correspondence person is out on vacation - who knows. The only other email I sent them had "address change" in the subject line, along with the other requirements. I got an immediate personalized response to that one.

Better luck next time!

Alvin,

Your report sounds positive. Those are always encouraging, so thanks for sharing. I am hoping and praying that my DIL will be treated as well.

May you be together very soon!

First thing, my girl remailed the Packet 3 docs EMS on the 11th after the first packet did not arrive and they STILL have not arrived at the embassy and she mailed them in BKK again. What is wrong with their postal system??? Can anyone give me an idea how long their Packet 3 papers took to get to the embassy when mailed in Thailand? She called and checked with the tracking number and the embassy also emailed me and told me they had not received them. If they have not received them by the end of the week, I think I will have her use my FedEx number and send them that way.

As to littleasianman's email problems, I have emailed the embassy 3 times so far and they have responded very nicely to my emails to let me know the packet has not arrived yet. I don't know why you are having a problem with them. I just emailed them again this morning to make sure I can FedEx the papers if they don't receive them and to give them my girl's new cell phone number since she lost yet ANOTHER expensive phone.
