The new Bangkok interview schedule was posted as of today June 11. My DIL's is not on it, so it must be time to email them to verify that they received her packet three.

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/ivschedule.pdf

She had some custom Thai postage stamps made up with pictures of the two of them and some of her. I guess that's another way of proving relationship...

Those dates all say 2007. Is that a typo on their part?

Sorry for the bad link. I didn't see any interviews scheduled into August, but then my eyes may have been playing tricks on me. I was looking for the magic number. I was hoping not to have to bug the embassy to see if they received the packet and for the interview date. My son wants to buy a ticket to Thailand -today- and my daughter-in-law wants him there in Hua Hin yesterday. I keep encouraging him to wait until he knows the interview date. He's in a situation now where he's earning a lot of money now to feather their nest. I hate to see him give it up to go wait for three months for a visa. You can tell I'm not young and madly in love with someone on the opposite side of the globe!

We found out our interview date months before they ever showed up in the Embassy's Interview schedule.

My girls interview was on June 3rd and we never saw her interview schedule listed in the Embassy's website until the May 11 update. I think its best if you can get an update via email from the Embassy. I think maybe they don't have enough room to put every one on the list.

Its all for LOVE..

Out of curiosity, which is the best POE to come in through, Dallas, Chicago or JFK? Or does it really make any difference? Is one easier or quicker than the other? Does JFK still give EAD if you ask?

I've read nothing but good about Chicago as POE which is where we are coming in since I live near Chicago. If you'd like to compare and read for yourself the reviews of POE's... here's the link. http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php

Thanks for the tip. They won't send out another list for a month and I still am not too trusting of the mail there. My son had problems there only if it was a piece of mail that looked important.

Hi

My Fiancee just sent back packet 3 ..... I now read people are sending it EMS ... What does that mean? I assume it has a verify that they received the packet. OOPS.. we did not do that.

What is EMS? Is the best procedure to email the Embassy to find if they received packet 3 and when the interview is scheduled? When should I do that? (Yes.. we are anxious!)

K-1 Process

It's basically the equivalent of Certified or Registered mail in the US. They offer it at Thai Post, and I believe you can actually track it online. They will also give you return receipt for it.

sending it ems is like sending it via fedex in terms of being able to track it and view who/when the signature occured.

i would give it a couple of business days maybe even 5 or so before emailing to see if it was received. i'm not sure when it will get entered into the system maybe someone else can shed some light.

good luck!

Hey guys,

So basically, my mother who is going to be the co-sponsor for the visa case just told me that they (her and my dad) haven't done taxes as they got an extension because they were out of town.

Also, another thing is my mom just informed me now that she files taxes with my dad, so does that mean that they BOTH have to sign an affidavit of support and BOTH give them to me?

AHDBHIBFDBFDSHBFHJFBVRHSVLBFHVJN this is so ANNOYING that my mom decides to tell me this NOW.

So my two questions are;

1) For current income taxes, if she hasn't filed for this year, then will last years and the year befores be sufficient?

2) Mom and dad files taxes together, do they both sign an affidavit?

Thanks!

I would think that your father's signature would suffice as usually that is the controlling SSI on the taxes...if he is listed first. Also, I don't see why you can't use previous two years and just note that they had not filed their taxes yet so you could not provide this year's. If the income is close to the same every year it should not matter. Of course, if you want to be really safe and avoid any problems, I'd get both their signatures. Better safe than sorry, you know?

Are you in California? I grew up in Ventura County and retired from the courts there in Ventura. Just curious where you are located since I know So. Cal well.
