Welcome! I wish I could tell you, but can only empathize with the night terrors. You can always email them <again> and ask them to contact if you if more info is needed. Is Bangkok being that rigid about requiring the 2007 tax return/transcripts???

Will they not look at the case globally?

Please post a follow-up on what happens, as my son is getting his I-134 together now and is open to any and all tips.

hey all... im new here posting.. but ive followed this website for over a year.. sorry for the lateness!! anyhow to get u quickly updated.. my fiance had her interview on the 29th of may and i thought i crossed my "t"'s and dotted my "i"'s but i guess they always find a fault in your paperwork.. they wanted my federal 1040's (although the website said letter from employer and/or tax info) and thankfully i did my taxes online and could get them that next monday for document submission.. but its already been a week and no reply by email or phone and i am getting cold sweats and night terrors.. has anybody else been in this situation? if so please let me know how long did it take for them to call with an answer... thanks!!

Did you submit just a letter from your employer or did you also include tax transcripts?

I don't think my fiancee has had vaccinations for ages. Will they require her to get some before she comes over when she has the medical exam? I never have to get any to go over there. And I never remember reading anything about them have to get any

How old is your fiance? I believe if she is under the age of 26 then she has to get an HPV shot, which is RIDICULOUSLY expensive for a stupid, worthless, not yet proven that it even works, shot.

My fiance paid something like 150.00 for that shot or something. Eventually she'll have to get the other shots as well, as they are required at AOS. I thought there were some that are required before going to the US, I guess not though.

Back to the I-134 topic in Thailand - would appreciate your opinions on this:

My son's last tax returns were for 2005, as he just graduated from college in Thailand last year. He is hoping they will look at the big picture, and is hoping not to have to enlist an I-134 co-sponsor, as he wants to do this on his own.

He is planning to submit his pay stubs from this year, showing substantial income and a letter from his employer. He was also going to include a cover letter of explanation, and evidence of his GI bill/Marine Corps College fund which was his main source of support from Aug 2003 - 2007. He plans to send the last three transcripts for the returns he did file, just to prove he is not a tax evader. That's in addition to a letter from his bank. We are meeting Tuesday to finalize the paperwork (he works in a remote location), as it needs to be sent off. If he receives new military orders prior to the interview he is going to include them. He would even throw in evidence that he is a recent college graduate if it would help.

Is he going to require a co-sponsor? According to the letter of the law, section 212(a)(4), it seems he wouldn't need one. I think the consulates just like to look at the bottom line on the taxes, as that makes their job much easier. One of the primary reasons the newlyweds opted for the K-3 visa is that he knows he would have good tax returns for 2008 and beyond for the I-184 for adjustment of status. Otherwise they would have gone the immigrant route.

My husband is reluctant to co-sponsor, the first reason being that he does not like to give out our information unless absolutely necessary. After experiencing just a mild case of identity theft, I have to agree.

Thanks in Advance,

Thai Mom

My turn to ask another question: Where in the packet 3 paperwork instructions does it say the petitioner (me) needs to submit my birth certificate and photocopy of my passport?

I could swear I'd read other people saying to be sure to include it, but I'm not seeing where that is in the paperwork, unless it is from the original I129F, where the embassy may ask for originals of any documents submitted. Is that the only place, or is there something else I'm missing? I just want to make sure I've got everything put together right and not missing any instructions.

What is his current salary? Is it above the poverty line for a 2 person household?

He made well above poverty level in four months, so that is not a problem.

Then he *should* be ok. Its probably going to come down to the individual examiner at the embassy and what they feel comfortable with. With pay stubs and a letter from the employer both showing he now makes enough he should be ok.
