Ok I need some experienced advice on the 156 and I134 forms. It asks to list persons who will accompany or follow to join, her children will likely not come for 2 or 3 years as they will stay in Thailand with her mom for now. Should I list them on the form or put none as we have to fill out a separate visa for them later anyway since they won't be coming in the year timeframe. Anyone have experience in this yet?

Thanks,

Steve

Hello Everyone:

We now have NOA2 in hand. Can my fiance get the medical and police certificate before she gets packet 3?

I realize this must have been asked before but I can't find it using search.

Thanks

Yes she can and all the info is in theis thread. I recommend reading from this page and back for a few months.

She can get the contents of Packet 3 here:

One question I have about the packet 3. I was hoping to have her send in the packet 3 checklist as soon as the embassy shows it has been mailed to get a jumpstart on things seeing as there's been many people where the packet 3 took weeks to arrive or never arrived at all. However the "checklist" on the Embassy website is very poor quality. Has anyone mailed in the checklist from the website? Any problems?

I used the one from the embassy's website for Rin last March and it was fine. From what I remember, the one in the packet 3 that arrived later was not any better.

Actually, I have heard that now in order to get a police report they have been requesting at a copy of the NVC letter with the BNK number on it. My fiance tried to get hers before without it but our lawyer told us we needed to have that letter first because now the police are requesting it.

Sawadee khap tuk khon!

My NOA2 should be coming sometime this millennium, and I want to prepare...particularly about packet 3.

Which forms are signed and returned to the embassy? Only the DS230 and checklist, right?

Good luck to you all, and thank you for the responses...I will have many questions coming!!

Thank you,

Jason

Ok. My fiancee just called the number listed on the Packet 3 for getting a police report. She says when she called, she was told she did not need to go to Bangkok. She could instead get the report from her home town.

Have any of you heard this before?

Shawndoc,

I have NEVER heard of this, and I actually asked my lawyer about this when we were asking about our police report a week ago. Unless things have changed in the past week, I don't think this is true.

I am 99.999999999% sure she has to get it in Bangkok.

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has an interview coming up... if so GOOD LUCK!

Also, wondering if there is anybody here who recently had the embassy receive their packet 3 and are still waiting on an interview date.

I have heard that they are ALREADY into JULY for the interviews??!!!

And what about the "single document"? Is this form only for those who have not married previously?

This form is for everyone now I guess JandD. First we were told that we didn't need it, but then our lawyer said it's required now...??? So yea, get it. You're going to need it. Better to have MORE documents than you don't need than to not have enough that you do need.
