Just click on"bigsky" in my window and you will see send message, you can just ask your questions here too. Probably better as there are far more experienced folks than me to help you along.

I don't remember exactly how I did everything. I filled out the forms on the computer and then printed. Anywhere that there wasn't enough room, and the little + appeared, I added an extra sheet with the heading, extra information for I-129F(for example), line(whatever #). I'd do the same for the 325 if necessary. Chok dii!

OK Thank you very much!!

Kampong received her Packet 3 @ 2 AM my time. Needless to say, she called me all excited an woke me from a deep sleep and I ended up working today on only 2 hours sleep.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I couldn't get back to sleep because I was going through the checklist over and over in my head and then something clicked in my head.......I realized that she needed to renew her passport, DAMN!! It expires in September and it needs to have 8 months validity on it prior to the issue of visa. #######!!

She is going to head off to BKK this weekend from Lamduan and apply for her new passport, fortunately it only takes 3 days for the new passport and she will also get her police check done while she is there. Once she has her new passport, she will send in the DS-230, pictures and copy of the photo page of her new passport.

We can see the light at the end of the tunnel now, I hope that she will have her interview by the end of March but that may be just some wishful thinking.

Chok dee to all.............

I finally got through after calling all day and our case was sent to BKK yesterday, so things are moving along! Bad news is I was unexpectedly laid off this week, very bad timing! So I'm in the hunt for a new job and a co-sponsor. Life is full of surprises!!

Good to hear the petition has been forwarded to BKK, bummed about the lay off. I suppose you did not get an employer letter before being laid off?

Just returned from Bangkok (for the second trip through the embassy...once for a K1 and once for IR2) and thought I'd share a few things:

1. According to the woman at Window 5 document submission is on Mondays (for those who didn't submit enough evidence at the interview) and passports with visas are generally issued the following Monday (assuming the additional evidence supports issuing the visa). With a pleading I somehow managed to get the visa for my stepdaughter back the next day. If the embassy is closed on a following Monday then expect the visa to be issued possibly the following Tuesday.

2. If you are going to bring children to the U.S. once you leave passport control at the airport you may need to be pulled aside for proof of relationship. This could be difficult if you aren't married (yet) as there may not be proof of relationship yet. Best to have your fiancee or wife have proof of sole custody of the child AND present the letter from USCIS showing both your name and the child's name on the paper. The visa in my daughter's passport wasn't enough and by showing a photo of us together (with my wife who was already in the U.S.), the paper from the amphur showing sole custody for my wife of her child, the letter of approval from USCIS, my marriage license, and, passport/Thai ID of my wife I was able to continue on with my stepdaughter.

I know this post isn't necessarily K1 related, however, some of the information might be helpful for thos bringing children along on the K1 with their fiancee.

Finally, if you are worried about proof of financial support, remember that the affidavit of support allows for legal income from any source. The income need not be taxed to be considered income (you only need proof of the income). I earn substantial amounts of money every year through mileage reimbursement (non-taxable) and this is considered income (so, too, is the earned income tax credit and any other tax credits payable in the current year...for example, tax credits earned in 2006 are paid in 2007 so count as income for the year 2007, etc). Other forms of income might include unemployment compensation, workman's comp, any cash benefits in lieu of salary, etc. so long as there's proof that it's ongoing.

Thanks for the good wishes all! I'm trying to stay positive and believe that it will work out. I actually did get a letter from my ex-employer the week before, but by the time I get to use it, a month or so down the road, it will be invalid.

This might be a stupid question and there doesn't seem to be much ambiguity in this email, but....

On February 24, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

...is this NOA2??? If so it came only 60 days from the NOA1, and seems 40 days faster than the average. Honestly I wasn't looking for this until April at the earliest.

Cheers,

Al

Yes, that would be your NOA2. Congratulations. You are fortunate.
