Given the huge amount of headache, paperwork, etc. you'll need to register a foreign birth back in the States I would think (from experience) it would be less headache to travel back to the U.S. to give birth. Plus you have the additional trouble of having to get a certified record of birth, U.S. passport from the Embassy, the headache of carrying a small infant on the plane, immunizations, etc.

If you give birth in LOS youd child will never be able to run for President

Congrats ThaiStyleUSA!

Your interview will be here very soon!

I agree with your statement, once you and her are together, the rest of the journey becomes much more bearable. Our AOS journey was no sweat at all compared to the K1 journey...simply because we were able to be together during that process :)

Peace and good luck on the upcoming interview!

Time to party my friends -- successful interview yesterday morning and we'll pick up her Visa Monday at 3 pm @ the Embassy. Everything went so smoothly; only 3 basic questions as our paperwork was perfect and no outstanding issues: 1) Where did you meet your fiance? 2) When did you meet your fiance? 3) How many times has your fiance been to Thailand to see you? THAT'S IT!

Scene at the Embassy's a bit crazy until you get inside the air conditioned area. Unfortunately there are no signs instructing Immigrant Visa Applicants to proceed to the front of the line for entry through security screening, but one of the staff members walked down the line and told everyone holding x-rays that they could move ahead (much to the chagrin of the non-immigrant applicants who'd been waiting for some time!) and avoid the huge wait outside the Embassy walls. Once inside you just keep moving until you're inside in the air con -- proceed to window 5 and give them your complete file. Once they verify all is there you have a seat and wait for your name to be called. All in all we arrived at 7 a.m. and were out of there before 9:30!

Thanks to everyone on VJ for the help and support over the past few months. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions -- if I can help I certainly will. Now the next chapter opens and we begin our new life together. Yeah!

Good luck to all of you as you wrap up your process. Great to see interviews scheduled for many of my VJ friends. Keep us posted on the progress!

Also - hat's off to our Bangkok attorney, Brian Wright (www.mythaifiance.com), who absolutely nailed the process. Practice interviews, transportation to the medical exams and police background checks, and other personalized preparation made the process as easy as it could be.

Sawadee krup!

I just now, at 7:45 Pac. time, received email of our 129 approval. They must be working overtime!! I called my sweetie and she's beside herself with joy. Dii jai Mak Mak!!! I don't think she really thought it would happen. It only now seems like a reality.

I'm only an occasional visitor here but have received some great advice and inspiration, thanks all for that!!

Best of luck to all and congrats T.F.!! With a little luck in a couple of months I'll be singing the same tune!

Congratulations ThaiStyleUSA! You finally got the date!

Its funny we both now know the official dates, yet the website still doesn’t list any of them.

And thanks so much Texas Farang for the run down on how it all works at the Embassy. I really appreciate you doing that.

I feel even better now after hearing you say Brian Wright nailed it. He and his staff have been working with us on everything the past couple months. It makes me feel good to hear someone else say that what he does mattered.

I’ve got my plane tickets ordered. Now the waiting game.

29 days to go...tick tick tick.

CONGRATS to Texas Farang! By the way, I love that handle. I'm originally from Texas, would love to move back there sometime. Yep, sounds like your interview was smooth sailing! Enjoy your party weekend!

Seems to be a lot of us about to be reunited with our loved ones!

Just got off the phone with NVC and found out the package was sent to BKK on Friday 2/1/08. I guess CSC has got their butt in gear in regards to sending packages off to the embassy's/consulates, it only took 8 days from NOA2 approval. I was expecting at least 3 weeks.......expect the worse, get the best.

We decided that I will not go to BKK for her interview, I am pending a promotion at work anytime now so we don't want to jeopardize that. With the money I would have spent on my airfare, I am going to surprise her and get her a direct flight from BKK to LAX on Thai Airways, 1st Class. She will be stoked!!

Good luck to all and congrats to those who have already been reunited!!
