The NOA2 says you will receive a notice in the mail from NVC. If not received in 4 weeks, the NOA2 instructs you to call NVC, number provided on NOA2.

Yes you will get confirmation from NVC and new case # start with BNK. The waiting period is somewhere between 2 to 6 weeks. I think the average is about 3 weeks.

Here is the website for NVC:

Here is the website for embassy in Bangkok:

I talked to my U.S. representatives office the other day to get some help and they said USCIS is so backed up that they are asking retired employees to come out of retirement. Unbelievable!

I recommend contacting your representative or senator. I've gotten fantastic help from their offices so far. I don't know if they've actually done anything yet but they listen and call USCIS to check on your case. Worth a shot anyway!

The decreased processing times could be a result of our massive expenditures in Iraq and Afghanistan along with the now proposed tax 'rebate' idea being thrown about.

If our own government took care of our own peolpe first then these delays would never happen.

For example, the Nebraska SC has moved forward (in terms of application submission dates) 1 day in processing in terms of handling petitions removing conditions on residency since last posting in December. That's an outrage.

But, hey, let's spend trillions on a war we never should have started....

Thanks for the info the processing times seem pretty good as there are not any on there that are past the end of Febuary so it looks like about 1 to 1.5 months to interview after they recieve application. Waiting,Waiting,Waiting.......Arghhhhhh The stress is killin' me.

I am getting frustrated now because I had sent several email to embassy asking for the status of my case and still no answer. Does anyone know what is going on at the Bangkok embassy?

Any luck getting a response from the embassy? I just sent them an e-mail asking them if they received packet 3 from my fiancee. I couldn't believe that they responded in less than 10 minutes.

Sawasdee ka fellow visa chasers! For a little back ground information: I'm an American woman living in Bangkok with my Thai fiancee. I've been here about 4 1/2 years now and am ready to go home.

I think you can see this in my timeline but we have completed all the info on my end (the American end of things) and have just finished collecting all the info for Packet 3. We haven't turned it into the embassy yet though because we have a slight problem.

I am pregnant and due in mid August :star: (if the little ####### comes on time) but I would like to give birth here and have a couple of months of nursing/baby time and adjustment before moving back to the United State and frantically looking for a job and worrying about my finances all over again. So, that means we would like to leave Thailand in mid-October/ perhaps November.

I realize that after the visa is issued we have 6 months before we have to exit the country....that means I want to schedule a later interview sometime in May. How can I do this? My second problem is, I'm afraid if I turn in Packet 3 too late, I will be "disqualified" or have some issues.

I've noticed some of you have some experience with the embassy. I've tried writing them, but i've gotten computer generated responses and no answers yet. What do you guys recommend.

Like I said, I'm in Bangkok so I could even go to the embassy myself....but I wouldn't know who to speak to; and in a sense I'm a little embarassed since I'd be asking about the "fiancee" visa when I'm already pregnant....Yeah, I know it's 2008 but some old fashioned sense in me has recently "popped up." hee hee.

What do you guys recommend? Thank you!

My girl had informed today that she received the package 4 with the interview date of 12 March 08.   I am so excited now. The hardest part for us will finally be over. As long as we are living together...I don't care about the rest of the waiting process thereafter.

I wish I could be there to celebrate the great news with her.

If you're in BKK, hand deliver your package 3 and see if you can speak to someone about your situation?? Just a thought. You can always get an extension on that 6 months due to the situation (pregnancy), just have a doctor letter stating that you are preggers.

Your fiance can send Packet 3 back before NOA2 expire. And when your fiance send Packet 3 back, have to send "cover letter" too to tell them that when you would want to get interview date.

Good luck ka !!
