Hi all,

I have been lurking around this forum for a time and decided to post my particulars with the fiancée visa process.

I have known my fiancée, Suchada for over two years now and we had our first meeting just a few months ago in November. As soon as I returned from Thailand we started to work on the I-129F and I mailed it the day after Christmas. So far I received the NOA1 on January 2nd, now from our readings it looks like months of waiting ahead of us.

I am very excited and happy that the application is in the system now.

This is a wonderful site, and the I-129F guide was such a great help in my preparations.

Cheers,

Alvin

Does anyone know if the pause in scheduling interviews applies to those who simply want to go to the Visa Unit to complete processing on visas that already had interviews and simply need further paperwork submission?

I don't believe so. Only word I've received related specifically to interviews. I would surmise -- while confirming with the Embassy -- that the hiatus only pertains to new interviews.

Good luck!

Apparently much ado about nothing. Got the typical email from the embassy saying, yes, arrive on any Monday between 1-3PM.

The visa schedule has been updated as well with a new 5 page list of appointments.

Hi folks,

We should be getting close and I'm trying to get a jump on the Packet 3. I've found the forms needed thanks to some help from the forum but I find the instructions confusing. Don't want to mess it up now after all this wait so would appreciate some help.

1.It says to immediately send in the D-230 Part1 to the BKK Embassy. Is that all that is initially sent? I assume that I can send this as soon as we receive our NOA2?

2.Next to be sent would be the checklist when all requirements have been met. Should we wait until we have the police certificate in hand and the medical exam completed to send in the checklist, or can we return it while those are in process? I'm guessing that it's just timing and as long as you have them by the interview you're OK.

3.Verification of unmarried status: is this required of everyone? Neither of us has been previously married.

Thanks in advance for your help and best wishes and patience to all. Chok dii!!

You may see this also in the general forum, I clicked new topic instead of reply and can't figure out how to edit?? I'm not very good with this stuff!

You really don't want to send anything to the embassy until your petition is sent from the NVC to the embassy. My fiancee hasn't scheduled her doctors visit yet and won't until we have an idea when her appointment will be. The police certificate takes about 3 weeks to obtain. Although it won't expire for 6 months, you really want it as recent as possible.

Your verification of unmarried status is just the form you sent in with the I-129F stating that you and your fiancee are free to marry.

I am getting frustrated now because I had sent several email to embassy asking for the status of my case and still no answer. Does anyone know what is going on at the Bangkok embassy?

Interesting. I've wrote the embassy twice in the last few weeks and they got back to me right away. The first time within 30 minutes. I plan to write them this coming week to see if they received our P-3.

try to not get frustrated. i was surprised that everyone seemed to be having such good response from the embassy. it has always been hit and miss with me. don't worry, i'm sure things are moving along. give it a week or so .... then write them again. a buddy of mine sent in packet 3 about the same time you did and he has not heard anything yet either. it'll happen.

on a good note ... my wife took her daughter to the embassy just 1 hour ago for her interview and her daughter's visa was approved. they only asked my wife one question .. why do you want to take your daughter to the usa? that was it.

we are soooo relieved.

oh .... and she met a thai woman who was at the embassy for her interview. she's going to be heading to mississippi. was that anybody here's fiance?

good luck to all
